  53. Welcome to version 3.00 of the Expand library for Clipper 5.01.
  54.  
  55. This file contains some last minute notes and some important
  56. remarks about this library, it's usage and the conditions of usage.
  57.  
  58. If you received this Library via colleagues, a friend, a shareware 
  59. distribution centre or by downloading from a Bulletin Board System,
  60. you (should) have the Evaluation Version of the Library. See documentation
  61. for more details. There is a difference between Evaluation and Commercial
  62. versions of the Library.
  63.  
  64. The package is named EXPAND53 on Bulleting Boards and other means of 
  65. distribution, which stands for Version 3 of the Expand library for Clipper 5.
  66.  
  67. 2. Files in Archive or on Disk:
  68. -------------------------------

  70. The EXPAND53 archive or the disk labeled Expand v3.00 for Clipper 5.01
  71. should contain the following files:
  72.  
  73. EXPAND.LIB    The Expand library, for Clipper 5.01, version 3.00
  74.         Just link in with your Clipper 5.01 applications.
  75.                 
  76. EXPAND.NG    The Norton Guide to Expand. Use NG.EXE or the NGUTILs to
  77.         read the information contained herein. There is no written
  78.         documentation (although it could be printed using functions
  79.         from the library), this, because using the Electronic version
  80.         is quite easier and handier. This allows changes, updates,
  81.         easier distribution and it spares paper.

  83. EXPAND.LNK    A Linker response File for the Blinker (tm) Users.
  84.  
  85. XPDEMO.ARJ    This archive contains the demonstration program. It's
  86.         stored in Compressed form by means of the ARJ archiver.
  87.         Retrieve the files by executing ARJ X XPDEMO at the DOS prompt.
  88.  
  89. XPNGDEMO.ARJ    This archive contains utilities concerning the Norton Guides
  90.         routines of the Expand Library.
  91.  
  92. EXPAND52.ARJ    An upgrade module for the users of older versions of the Expand
  93.         library. See "Release Notes" in the Documentation for more
  94.         details.

  96. ORDER.DOC    A file that might be used to order the Library, print it for
  97.         more information.

  99. READ.ME        This file.

  101. The distribution disk might also contain:

  103. VGAFONTS.ARJ    This file contains some VGA Fonts for use with the
  104.         XPloadFont() function. This file will probably not be 
  105.         included in the Expand Archive, as to not increase its
  106.         size too much. You may find this file seperately on a BBS too.

  108. 3. Expand documentation:
  109. ------------------------

  111. All the documentation is grouped into a Norton Guide file, to be read
  112. by the Norton Guides program as supplied with Clipper 5.01. If you want
  113. to print the documentation, use the NGPRINT.PRG program. The NGPRINT
  114. program read's EXPAND.NG (using Expand Library features), and prints
  115. it to a printable file, EXPAND.PRN.

  117. 4. Getting the Latest version of Expand:
  118. ----------------------------------------

  120. The latest version of the Expand Library can always be F'requested at the
  121. Clipper Developers Group Netherlands (of which I am a member) Bulletin Board.
  122. The CDGN BBS (Also known as Hekom BBS) has FidoNode 2:500/223. Use magic
  123. name EXPAND for latest version of Expand for Clipper 5.01 and Magic name
  124. EXPAND87 for latest version of Expand for Clipper '87. Note that only
  125. Evaluation versions of the Library are (and may be) placed on BBS's. If
  126. you want some information about purchasing the Library, read the documentation
  127. or contact me by Fax or Phone.

  129. You can also call this BBS or leave NetMail for me at this adres. It is not
  130. my BBS, but I'm a regular user of it. Although the Mail doesn't always get
  131. through. Therefore, the Fax would be the preferred medium. But Mail and/or
  132. phoning is Ok, though.

  134. 5. Licence Agreement:
  135. ---------------------

  137. Read the "Licence" Part of the documentation for full details on the
  138. license. The Expand library for Clipper 5.01 is distributed on BBS's
  139. in an Evaluation version. If you are going to effectively use the Library,
  140. you must purchase the Library. You can purchase the Library in three different
  141. ways, depending on the fact if you want (parts of) sources. Please read
  142. the section "Registering" when you consider purchasing Expand. Note that you
  143. now already have a fully functionnal version of the Library, no items
  144. have been left out, as is required by the definition of "shareware".

  146. 6. "Quick" Compile:

  149. If you want a Quick demonstration of the main features of the Expand library,
  150. Compile and Link to XPDEMO.EXE as follows:

  160. Note that you must first extract the Files from the XPDEMO.ARJ archive.
  161. It is a good idea to place them in a separate directory.
