- HOTMETAL.ZIP 2179971 02-24-96 HOTMETAL V1.0
- | HoTMetaL v1.0+ - An editor for creating
- | files that can be read by graphical browsers
- | (such as Mosaic) that are connected to the
- | World Wide Web (WWW). The file format for
- | such files is called Hypertext Markup
- | Language (HTML). The main difference between
- | an editor like HoTMetaL and browsers is that
- | HoTMetaL is for editing files and browsers
- | are for retrieving, displaying, and reading
- | files. Any text editor can create an HTML
- | file (but we believe that HoTMetaL is a more
- | convenient and pleasant way of doing it!)
- | Browsers take a file saved by HoTMetaL,
- | consisting of text and markup, and do things
- | like screen formatting, generating graphical
- | forms, issuing mail messages, and so forth.
- | It's important to understand that the
- | different kinds of programs do different
- | things. There are many browsers available,
- | and they can process the same HTML file in
- | different ways--and these are outside the
- | control of HoTMetaL! What is in HoTMetaL's
- | control is creating correctly marked-up
- | documents.
-
- HSTD13B1.ZIP 740590 12-06-95 HOTDOG WEB EDITOR
- | HotDog Web Editor - Helps you design pages
- | for the World Wide Web (WWW). Web pages are

- | a text-based language. Browsers like
- | Netscape and Mosaic read the HTML files, and
- | display them on the screen. The difference
- | between an HTML document and a word
- | processing document is that the same HTML
- | document can be read on many different
- | computer platforms, for example PC,
- | Macintosh and UNIX. HotDog offers many ways
- | to making creating HTML documents easier. If
- | you are an experienced HTML author, you can
- | type all the formatting tags directly, or
- | select them from menus and pop-up lists. If
- | you are new to HTML, HotDog has screens to
- | let you insert images, formatting, and
- | hypertext links into your document without
- | having to learn the HTML language.

- RDUN61.ZIP 43527 12-17-95 ROBODUN V0.61
- | RoboDUN v0.61 - Dial-Up Network Script
- | Utility. Many dial-up resources such as
- | internet providers require a 'clear text'
- | login. This requires you to request a
- | post-dial terminal screen to enter your user
- | name, password and possibly other
- | information in order to log into the system.
- | SLIP further complicates the matter by also
- | requiring you to wait for an IP address from
- | the server and provide the address when
- | prompted by Windows. RoboDUN (Robotic
- | Dial-Up Networking, if you will) eliminates
- | all that by running a script for a given
- | connection, the script guiding the
- | connection automatically. RoboDUN is divided
- | into three parts. ROBODUN.EXE and
- | RDUNDLL.DLL are the 'daemon' half of the
- | program. This program and related library
- | are what waits for a connection attempt and
- | control the script playback when needed. By
- | adding ROBODUN.EXE to your StartUp folder or
- | group, you have automatic scripting upon
- | entering Windows without having to start it
- | manually. RDUN32.EXE is the 'RoboDUN
- | Manager', what you interact with. This
- | program may be started like any other
- | Windows program and does not require
- | ROBODUN.EXE to run, although it can also be
- | started by double-clicking the 'Telephone'
- | icon in the tray, indicating ROBODUN.EXE is
- | running.

- WATCH95.ZIP 290285 06-28-95 WS WATCH
- | WS WATCH - This program monitors routing
- | hosts on the TCP/IP (Internet) network.
- | Every so often it checks to see if each host
- | in its database is responding. Initially the
- | hosts are shown in yellow in a graphic
- | display. If they respond to a check data
- | packet, they turn green. If there is an
- | error, they change colour. There are colour
- | codes for varying numbers of lost packets.
- | These colours may be altered from the
- | default settings in the File/Colours menu.
- | Lost packets may be caused by networks
- | responding slowly, i.e. slower than the
- | timeout period set in the options menu, due
- | to heavy data traffic, and also by hosts
- | being shut down, hardware faults etc. The
- | value of this utility is that you can see
- | whether failure to connect via the Internet
- | is due to a gateway machine being down. It
- | also serves as a handy graphical method of
- | logging in as a remote terminal to a
- | displayed host.
