  3. Introduction
  4. ============

  6. EXITMAN is a windows utility which gives the user the ability to
  7. exit windows, restart windows or reboot the system at any time.
  8. EXITMAN is designed to stay out of your way by remaining minimized
  9. whenever any other application receives focus. By adding EXITMAN to
  10. your windows Startup group, you will be able to exit, restart or reboot
  11. at any time, with minimal effort.

  13. The feature of Exit Manager which sets it apart from all other exit
  14. programs is its ability to attach to menus and to run in three seperate
  15. modes. By selecting the Attach To Menus, Exit Manager will append
  16. Exit Windows, Restart Windows and Reboot System menu items to the system
  17. menu of all running Windows applications. This means, no matter where
  18. you are, you have immediate access to Exit Manager's features.

  20. Also, Exit Manager provides three modes of operation; interactive,
  21. immediate and invisible. In interactive mode, Exit Manager provides a
  22. sharp 3D interface from which you can choose to initiate any of Exit
  23. Manager's features. In immediate mode, you can specify command line options
  24. which will cause Exit Manager to exit, restart or reboot immediately!
  25. This way you can create program items for each feature and execute them
  26. without any further interaction. Finally, in invisible mode, Exit Manager
  27. can be configured to start up with no splash screens, attach to system menus,
  28. and then remove itself from the desktop (leaving no icon on the desktop).
  29. By adding Exit Manager (in invisivle mode) to your StartUp group, you will
  30. add a feature to your system that Windows left out!

  34. EXITMAN is a Visual Basic program. This means as long as EXITMAN
  35. is running (including minimized), VBRUN300.DLL is loaded in memory.
  36. Therefore, any other Visual Basic application you have will load faster
  37. since VBRUN300.DLL is already loaded.

  41. Exit Manager now includes a complete install program, an uninstall program
  42. and a complete help system. Application provides context
  43. sensitive help by pressing F1 at any time. Command line options were also
  44. added to provide greater control and flexibility. Refer to help file for full
  45. details on all features.

  47. Installation Instructions

  50. 1. Copy the file SETUP.EXE to a floppy disk.
  51.  
  52. 2. Start Windows 3.1
  53.  
  54. 3. From the Program Manager, select File Run.
  55.  
  56. 4. In the command line field enter A:\SETUP.EXE
  57.    (or B:\SETUP.EXE)
  58.  
  59. 5. Follow the directions during the installation procedure.

  67. 1.1    1/19/95 - Full version released with menu attachment feature enabled.

  69. 1.1a    1/23/95 - Exclusion feature added to allow user to exclude certain
  70.           applications from the menu attachment feature. This was introduced
  71.           to handle system lock ups with certain applications such as
  72.           "It's Legal For Windows".

  75.          now provided.
