As with any hard disk benchmark, QBENCH results may be affected by disk-caching utilities or TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) programs. To obtain accurate results, remove any such programs before running the benchmark.
Besides disk caching utility software, caching disk controllers may also cause the data access times reported by QBENCH to be unusually low.
Note that QBENCH is a DOS program which cannot be run under Windows or OS/2. Also, QBENCH cannot be used with drives which do not have a BIOS or INT13h interface.
To stop the benchmark prematurely during a test, press <ESC>. Do NOT stop the program by turning off the power or by restarting your computer.
