  3. The DeadWood program is shipped with the following files:

  5.         DEADWOOD.EXE - the file management interface (main program, v1.22)
  6.         DEADTSR1.EXE - TSR to capture DOS file accesses (v1.10)
  7.         DEADTSR2.EXE - TSR to record accesses captured by TSR 1 (v1.10)
  8.         DEADSET1.FIL - initial file display settings.  Created if missing
  9.         CONTROLP.INI - initial colors.  Created if missing
  10.         DEADWOOD.PIF - PIF file for use with Microsoft Windows
  11.         DEADWOOD.ICO - icon for use with Microsoft Windows
  12.         README.NOW   - this file
  13.         MANUAL.DOC   - instructions for use AND IMPORTANT CAUTIONS
  14.         LICENSE.DOC  - describes shareware and your license to use DEADWOOD
  15.         ORDER.DOC    - describes how to register DEADWOOD, and payment terms
  16.         SYSOP.TXT    - describes how vendors, BBS's, and others may
  17.                        distribute DEADWOOD to others.  Also provides a
  18.                        description of the program and system requirements.

  20. Other Files:

  22.         DEADWOOD.DAT - created during use of the TSR's.  This file is a list
  23.                        of each file that DOS tries to access.  The file is
  24.                        created while DEADTSR2 runs, and deleted by DEADWOOD
  25.                        after updating the history file.  It will continue to
  26.                        grow until the DEADWOOD program is run and you choose
  27.                        YES to update the history file.  FASCINATING to
  28.                        browse through!
  29.         DEADHIST.DAT - created during use (of the update function) of the
  30.                        DEADWOOD file manager.  As an ISAM data file, it
  31.                        creates a very large file to start with - 64k.  This
  32.                        file contains a history of all (updated) file activity,
  33.                        and is used by DEADWOOD to declare a file Unused or 
  34.                        describes the type of use the file has seen.

  36. UPGRADES:  Please note that if you are upgrading from an earlier version,
  37. pre-1.20, the data file DEADHIST.DAT is incompatible with this version.
  38. Delete this file by using the command "DEL *.DAT" before running the new
  39. DeadWood file manager or TSR's.

  41. To print the documentation files, type

  43.         COPY *.DOC PRN and press the return key.

  46. VERY IMPORTANT:  Read the CAUTIONS section in the MANUAL.DOC file.
  47. It lists several situations to avoid which may produce unpredictable 
  48. results.

  51. If you distribute DEADWOOD to friends, associates, or to a computer 
  52. bulletin board system (BBS), please distribute the file DEAD123.??? 
  53. rather than the individual files for DEADWOOD.  Do not distribute the 
  54. registered version of DEADWOOD - the only difference is an occasional
  55. reminder to register.
