Powerful pop-up menu from Config.Sys, supports ALL DOS versions!
BOOT.SYS lets you display one or more menus at boot-up time and have different parts of Config.Sys and/or Autoexec.Bat executed depending on which menu options you select. Its basic functionality is similar to the multi-config feature in MS/PC-DOS 6.x, but BOOT.SYS goes much further in many ways.
BOOT.SYS features state of the art menus with customizable colors, boxes, menu bar, accelerator keys, etc; up to 20 items per menu, 25 menus. It enhances the Config.Sys syntax with variables (like batch files) and powerful if/then/else structures. You can create a single Config.Sys file that will run on different PCs, even under different DOS versions, and provide specific customizations for each PC.
The sophisticated installation program automatically upgrades your DOS6 multi-config files or provides a sample menu based on your single-config setup. You can edit Config.Sys lines on the fly while booting up to fine-tune your system. BOOT.SYS can rename files, for example configuration files for memory managers, while booting up.
BOOT.SYS lets you protect your systems with a boot-up password in a flexible way: you can protect some or all configurations, and activate the password only during the night or on specific days of the week.
BOOT.SYS supports MS/PC-DOS 2.11 to 6.3, DR DOS 5.0/6.0, and Novell DOS 7.0; it can control the DOS= command and is compatible with QEMM7.
