  9. 1968     First McLaren Grand Prix win at the Belgian Grand
  10.          Prix, with Bruce himself driving.

  12. 1970     Sadly, Bruce McLaren is killed while testing a
  13.          Can-Am  sportscar at Goodwood. 
  14. 1970-74  Despite Bruce's absence, McLaren cars continue to
  15.          win in F1, Indy and Can-Am racing.

  17. 1974     Team McLaren enters one of the longest commercial
  18.          partnerships in sporting history with Philip
  19.          Morris, through their leading brand Marlboro.
  20.          Marlboro McLaren capture their first F1 Drivers
  21.          and Constructors Championships with Emerson
  22.          Fittipaldi in the Marlboro McLaren Ford M23.

  24. 1976     James Hunt wins the Drivers Championship for the
  25.          team in the Marlboro McLaren Ford M23. 
  26. 1980     Formation of McLaren International, the result of
  27.          a merger between Team McLaren and Project Four, a
  28.          successful British racing company led by Ron
  29.          Dennis. 
  30.  
  31. 1981     John Watson wins the 1981 British Grand Prix in
  32.          the Marlboro McLaren Ford MP4, bringing its maiden
  33.          victory to the new team, and McLaren's 25th. It is
  34.          the first time that an all carbon-fibre chassis
  35.          wins an F1 race. 
  36.  
  37. 1984     Beginning of the partnership with the Techniques
  38.          d'Avant-Garde Group (TAG) to develop the new
  39.          Porsche turbo-charged engine. The Marlboro McLaren
  40.          TAG Turbo MP4/2 designed by John Barnard dominates
  41.          the World Championship by winning 12 out of 16
  42.          races, securing both Drivers and Constructors
  43.          Championships with Niki Lauda beating his team
  44.          mate Alain Prost to the Drivers title by only half
  45.          a point. Shell joins the team as fuel and
  46.          lubricant supplier.

  48. 1985     Both world championships fall to McLaren again
  49.          with Alain Prost clinching the Drivers title in
  50.          the Marlboro McLaren TAG Turbo MP4/2B.

  52. 1986     Prost wins his second Drivers title with the
  53.          Marlboro McLaren TAG Turbo MP4/2C 
  54.  
  55. 1988     Associated with Honda, McLaren takes absolute
  56.          control of the F1 scene, winning a record 15 out
  57.          of 16 races. Ayrton Senna joins the team and wins
  58.          his first Drivers World Championship outright.
  59.          McLaren secures its fourth Constructors title with
  60.          the Marlboro McLaren - Honda MP4/4. 
  61.  
  62. 1989-91  McLaren's unprecedented domination of the sport
  63.          harvest three more consecutive Drivers and
  64.          Constructors Championship with Prost in 1989 and
  65.          Senna in 1990 and 1991.

  67. 1993     McLaren becomes the most successful constructor in
  68.          the history of Formula One when Senna scores
  69.          McLarenÆs 104th Grand Prix victory at the
  70.          Australian Grand Prix in the Marlboro McLaren Ford
  71.          MP4/8.

  73.          Mika Hakkinen makes his F1 debut at the Portuguese
  74.          Grand Prix. McLaren secures a deal with French
  75.          manufacturer Peugeot to supply engines for the
  76.          1994 season. 
  77.  
  78. 1995     McLaren enters a long-term partnership with
  79.          Mercedes-Benz. Nigel Mansell joins the team
  80.          alongside Mika Hakkinen. Mobil replaces Shell
  81.          as fuel and lubricant supplier.
