  1.     9 Tips to make PageDraw 1.7 fun and easy to use.

  4. 1.  To find out what a toolbar button is for, rest your mouse 
  5.     pointer on the button for a few seconds. A brief description 
  6.     of the button's purpose will appear on the status bar.
  7.  
  8. 2.  If your PC has fast graphics hardware, you can edit in preview
  9.     mode. If your PC is relatively old, for best performance, you
  10.     must edit with Preview turned off. Use Preview mode only to
  11.     change color, pattern, or to make other final adjustments.
  12.     To turn Preview on or off, choose Preview from the View menu.

  14. 3.  To move an object, click on the edge of the object (not inside
  15.     the object) and drag. To edit an object, first select the object
  16.     then drag any handle.

  18. 4.  The shift key can modify the action of many tools. For example,
  19.     you can add more objects to a selection by holding down the
  20.     shift key while using the selection tool.
  21.  
  22. 5.  What to do if you find rotation, scaling, skewing or reflection
  23.     hard to control: After clicking the 'origin' point (the point 
  24.     around which you want to rotate, scale, skew or reflect), move 
  25.     the mouse away from the origin horizontally and vertically, then 
  26.     click anywhere and drag. The farther you move the mouse away from
  27.     the origin, the better the control.

  29. 6.  You can view and edit a drawing in portrait or landcape mode.
  30.     Choose Orientation from View menu.

  32. 7.  To edit existing text, select the text tool and click on the
  33.     baseline of the text you would like to edit.

  35. 8.  PageDraw uses a subset of the PostScript language for saving 
  36.     files. If you know the PostScript language, PageDraw's file
  37.     format is self-documenting. PageDraw's file format is similar
  38.     to the Adobe Illustrator 88 file format. PageDraw can read most
  39.     drawings in Adobe Illustrator format. You can ftp AI format 
  40.     documentation from ftp.adobe.com. If you are a programmer you
  41.     can make your application generate files in AI format, and 
  42.     PageDraw will be able to read and edit them.
  43.     Also, you can use PageDraw to edit arbitrary PostScript files
  44.     by converting the PostScript file to AI format using Ghostscript.

  47. 9.  And finally, if you would like to uninstall PageDraw, just delete
  48.     all the files in PageDraw directory. PageDraw 1.7 does not create
  49.     or modify any files in your Windows directory. (Why aren't all 
  50.     programs this nice?)
