- To install ACDSee v5 on Windows 98/Me/NT/2000, your machine will require that your Windows Installer package is updated to 2.0.2066.2 first.

- To determine if you have the right version of Windows Installer on your machine:

- Click on Start, go to Find (or Search) and select Files or Folders.

- Type msi.dll in the drop-down box labelled "Named".

- Choose your drive in which Windows is installed (usually c:) in the box labelled "Look In"

- Click on the "Find Now" or "Search" button.

- When the msi.dll file appears in the Search window, right-click on the file and choose Properties.

- Click on the Version tab and verify the file version number.

- If the file version number isn't 2.0.2066.2 or later (or is missing), download and run the Windows Installer from:

- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=32831 - Windows 95/98/Me

- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=32832&NewList=1 - Windows NT 4 & 2000

- XP users will not need this update.
