  3. You were watching your Real Time Clock (RTC) roll-over from 1999 to the
  4. year 2000.  We set it to 1 minute before midnight on the turn of the
  5. century.  We directly reported the date which the RTC will pass to the
  6. BIOS.

  8. If the RTC went back to 1/1/1900,  See the section 'Real Time Clocks'
  9. for the reasons.  Whether that is important to you depends on how the
  10. BIOS handles the date, and also whether any programs directly
  11. interrogate the RTC for the date.

  16.     A battery powered chip in your PC which informs the BIOS and thus
  17.     the Operating system of the date and time.

  19.     A chip which gets the date and time from the Real Time Clock and
