  6. TreeSize Professional is a powerful and flexible harddisk space manager for
  7. Windows 9x/NT/2000. Find out which folders are the largest on your
  8. drives and recover Megabytes on it. Treesize Professional shows you the size,
  9. allocated and wasted space, the number of files, 3D bar charts and pie charts,
  10. the last access date and much more information for several folders or drives
  11. you choose. It also searches for old, big and temporary files on your hard
  12. disks. The application has an intuitive Explorer-like user interface and it is
  13. fast and multithreaded. You can print detailed reports or export the collected
  14. Data to Excel or a text file. TreeSize Pro can be started from the context
  15. menu of every folder or drive.

  18. INSTALLATION

  20. Click on Setup.exe and follow the instructions. It is possible to uninstall
  21. TreeSize Professional via Control Panel/Software. You can install and
  22. deinstall different version of TreeSize Professional independantly from each
  23. other.
  24. By installing TreeSize Professional you accept the license agreement outlined
  25. in License.txt

  30. TreeSize Professional is Shareware, that means you can try it and distribute
  31. the complete archive. If you decide to use it, you must register. Look in the
  32. help file for registration information.

  35. KNOWN PROBLEMS

  37. Please report errors and problems to the author. Here's a list of known bugs
  38. and problems:

  40. * Direct export to Excel 95 will only work, if the default language for
  41.   OLE Automation in Excel 95 is english. All localized versions (e.g. German
  42.   or French) have localized OLE commands, that means I need to know French
  43.   or Chinese OLE commands to automate the localized versions. I'm not sure
  44.   if I will find a solution for this problem. But It works fine with all
  45.   versions of Excel 97.

  47. * If you have installed WS FTP Professional V5.0 or higher, this software 
  48.   installs two new folders with FTP Connections, one of them below 'Desktop'
  49.   or 'My Computer' and an other one in 'Program Files\Ws_ftp'. If you now
  50.   scan your Program Files folder with TreeSize Professional, the Ws_Ftp shell
  51.   extensions try to connect to all listed FTP servers. To solve this problem,
  52.   you can delete this folder in the Explorer, it is not necessary, because
  53.   there is still the same folder under 'Desktop' available.

  72. * A problem with corrupt toolbar images under Windows 98 with certain video
  73.   drivers has been fixed.

  76. * It's now easier to check several files in the search window by selecting
  77.   mutliple files with the Shift or Ctrl key and then using the context menu.
  78. * You can now chose to move the checked files in the file search window to the
  79.   recycle bin, to delete them from harddisk or to move them to a given folder.
  80.   This allows you to easily archive or zip these files. The directory
  81.   structure is preserved when moving!
  82. * You can tell the Oldest file search to return only folders in which *all*
  83.   files have not been accessed/changed since a certain date. This allows you
  84.   to identify larger unused parts of a file system than only individual files.
  85. * New charting engine: a better look and a smaller download size (an
  86.   additional DLL is not required any more)
  87. * The free space on a drive is included in the pie chart if a drive is
  88.   selected on the left pane and the "Allocated Space" mode is active.
