  5. ExpPrint is a Windows extension program that lets you easily print a
  6. listing of your files and folder contents directly from Explorer.

  20. let you tailor the content of the printout. You can also generate a text
  21. file that is suitable for importing into a spreadsheet to give you more
  22. possibilities.

  45. Run the ExpPrint program (ExpPrint.exe) directly from your web browser (if
  46. you're accessing ExpPrint from our web site), or download it and run the
  47. program from your hard disk, or the supplied floppy disk (if you've
  48. ordered one with your registration).

  51. Setup will copy files to your computer and then prompt you for your
  52. registration information (which you can skip if you're evaluating it).
  53.  
  54. The last step of Setup informs you that ExpPrint is installed and briefly
  55. tells you how to use it. If you're upgrading an existing version, setup
  56. may need to restart Windows.

  58. Installing under Windows 2000 or NT4

  61. You need to run the installation from an account with Administrator 
  62. privileges.
  63.  
  64. Currently, the Start Menu, Program sub-folder is created under the user 
  65. account who installs the program. This means that if you have to logon as 
  66. Administrator in order to install, the menu items are installed only under 
  67. the Administrator's Start Menu. To make the menu items available under 
  68. your normal user account, open Explorer and move the JD Design sub-folder 
  69. from the Administrator Start Menu/Programs folder.

  74. The installer supports "quiet" installation, for example:

  101.             How Do You Use ExpPrint?

  104. 1. Select the directory branch, disk drive, or the set of files you want
  105. to print in an Explorer window.

  107. 2. Right click on the selected items to display the context menu and
  108. choose the "Print Directory Listing..." item to display the ExpPrint
  109. dialog box.

  111. The main ExpPrint dialog box lets you configure the settings. Note that an
  112. unregistered version does not let you save or restore any settings, and
  113. prints an evaluation banner on the page footer.

  153. When you receive your registration information, enter your registered name
  154. and number into the About dialog box. You can access this dialog from the
  155. Start menu shortcut, or from the main ExpPrint dialog About button.
  156.  
  157. You must enter the information exactly as it appears. The case, spaces,
  158. and punctuation of the name are significant, and the number is composed of
  159. the characters 0-9, A-F and again, the case of the letters is significant.
  160. If you register the set of utilities, be sure to use the correct
  161. registration number for each product.

  163. You can check that registration has worked by re-displaying the About box
  164. from the main dialog. When the product is successfully registered your
  165. registration name is displayed in the About dialog rather than the entry
  166. fields.

  171. Any updates to the current version are free to registered users by
  172. downloading the latest version from our web site. Your current
  173. registration number will continue to work with updates.

  179. Q. The "Full Path Name" check box doesn't do what I expect.
  180.  
  181. A. This facility is only really useful when printing the search results
  182. from the Find Files window. For normal use, leave this unchecked.

  185. Q. ExpPrint's printed file name doesn't match what I see with Explorer
  186.  
  187. A. Windows Explorer adjusts its displayed file names so that you don't
  188. normally see all upper case file names. ExpPrint does not duplicate this
  189. behaviour, hence you may see cosmetic differences in upper/lower case
  190. naming. Also, when ExpPrint uses the "Print Full Path Name" setting, it
  191. gets the displayed name by an alternative method, so you may see some
  192. differences with this setting too. You can verify the correct name of a
  193. file by using the DIR command from an MS-DOS prompt under Windows.
  194. Internet Explorer 4 has a setting that disables Explorer's upper case file
  195. hiding - see the View, Folder Options dialog, View tab, Allow all
  196. uppercase names, check box.

  207. Note: Because the Windows INF de-installer cannot currently delete files
  208. that are loaded in memory, we recommend that you first reboot your
  209. machine. Then, remove the component without first using it. This will
  210. ensure that the files are correctly deleted.

  213. item (listed as "JD Design ExpPrint (Remove Only)").
