  2. Installing the RealiMation Internet Plugin
  3. ==========================================

  5. NOTE:
  6. The RealiMation Internet plugin requires Netscape Navigator V2.0+ (32 bit) or
  7. Microsoft Internet Explorer V3.0+ and currently only works on Windows 95 or
  8. Windows NT operating systems.
  9.  
  10. If you did not install the Internet plugin when installing RealiMation you will
  11. need to do the following to setup the RealiMation plugin:

  13. Copy NPRBS.DLL from the RealiView directory into your web browser's plugins
  14. directory.
  15.  
  16. e.g. copy C:\RealiView\nprbs.dll ->
  17.           C:\Program Files\Netscape\Program\plugins\nprbs.dll
  18.      or   C:\Program Files\Microsoft Internet\Plugins\nprbs.dll

  20. This will enable your web browser to find the plugin and the next time you
  21. encounter a RealiBase on the world wide web the RealiMation plugin will be
  22. used to view it.

  24. Having installed the plugin try running your browser with the file "3d_web.htm"
  25. that can be found in the Samples\Demo directory. This web page gives details on
  26. how to use the plugin to fly around 3D worlds.

  28. When RealiView installs, it adds the RealiView program ("bin") directory to your
  29. program search path. You must have rebooted your machine since RealiView was
  30. installed in order to use the plugin.

  32. As you fly around the sample RealiBase, you should note that there are hotlinks
  33. attached to the church and the castle. One of these invokes Netscape with the
  34. 3d_web.htm file, and the other invokes Netscape to go to the RealiMation home
  35. page on the web - http://www.realimation.com.

  38. Troubleshooting
  39. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  40. If the plugin does not start when you view a web page containing a RealiMation
  41. then check the following:
  42.  
  43. 1) The file NPRBS.DLL is located in your web browser's plugins directory (see
  44. above)
  45.  
  46. 2) The RealiView\bin directory is on your path (type "set" at a DOS prompt and
  47. check that the directory you installed RealiView into is present in the
  48. PATH= line.)
  49.  
  50. 3) Your web browser is the correct version (see above)

  53. Using 'Full Screen' Display Drivers
  54. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  55. Some display drivers are 'full screen' drivers, and replace the Windows
  56. desktop (for example, the Direct3D Full Screen driver and the 3DFX driver when
  57. used with a single screen).  For instructions on how to enable these drivers
  58. from the plugin see the RealiView readme file (rmview.wri).  Note that the
  59. plugin will use the same display driver as selected within RealiView.
