  1. SOFTWARE USE LIMITATIONS AND LIMITED LICENSE

  3. General Product License. This copy of Baldur's Gate
  4. (the Software) is intended solely for your personal 
  5. noncommercial home entertainment use. You may not 
  6. decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble the Software, 
  7. except as permitted by law. Interplay Productions and
  8. Bioware Corp. retain all right, title and interest 
  9. in the Software including all intellectual property 
  10. rights embodied therein and derivatives thereof. The 
  11. Software, including, without limitation, all code, data 
  12. structures, characters, images, sounds, text, screens, 
  13. game play, derivative works and all other elements of 
  14. the Software may not be copied, resold, rented, leased, 
  15. distributed (electronically or otherwise), used on 
  16. pay-per-play, coin-op or other for-charge basis, or 
  17. for any commercial purpose. Any permissions granted 
  18. herein are provided on a temporary basis and can be 
  19. withdrawn by Interplay Productions at any time. All 
  20. rights not expressly granted are reserved.

  22. Modem and Network Play. If the Software contains 
  23. modem or network play, you may play the Software via 
  24. modem transmission with another person or persons 
  25. directly without transmission through a third party 
  26. service or indirectly through a third party service 
  27. only if such service is an authorized licensee of 
  28. Interplay. For the purposes of this license, a third 
  29. party service refers to any third party service 
  30. which provides a connection between two or more 
  31. users of the Software, manages, organizes, or 
  32. facilitates game play, translates protocols, or 
  33. otherwise provides a service which commercially 
  34. exploits the Software, but does not include a third 
  35. party service which merely provides a telephonic 
  36. connection (and nothing more) for modem or network 
  37. play. Authorized licensee services are listed on 
  38. the Interplay Productions World Wide Web Site located 
  39. at http://www.interplay.com. This limited right to 
  40. transmit the Software expressly excludes any 
  41. transmission of the Software or any data streams 
  42. thereof on a commercial basis, including, without 
  43. limitation, transmitting the Software by way of a 
  44. commercial service (excepting those specific 
  45. commercial services licensed by Interplay) which 
  46. translates the protocols or manages or organizes 
  47. game play sessions. If you would like information

  53. retaining this Software, you assent to the terms

  58. therein to the store where you acquired the 
  59. Software for a full refund.
