  3.                  NBA Action '98 Patch Version 1.1

  6. This patch fixes the timeout bug with users who have less than 
  7. 9 buttons on their gamepad/joystick.
  8.  
  9. Player one's pause key (always on the keyboard) is F1.
  10. Player two's pause key (always the first gamepad/joystick) is F2.
  11. Player three's pause key (always the second gamepad/joystick) is F3.
  12. Player four's pause key (always the third gamepad/joystick) is F4.
  13. Player five's pause key (always the fourth gamepad/joystick) is F5.
  14. Player six through ten is is F6-F10 respectively.

  16. If you press your player's pause key twice quickly, the pop up menu 
  17. will appear and if you have the ball, you can call a timeout.  
  18. This worked properly with MS Sidewinder gamepads and the keyboard 
  19. before, but now it works with all peripherals using this fix.

  21. This patch also fixes a couple of other minor bugs, but this should 
  22. be all the instructions you should need to implement the changes.

  24. To install the patch, copy the new files over the existing 
  25. installed files in your working directory (the directory on the 
  26. hard disk where the game is installed) and then start the game 
  27. just as you would normally.  You cannot use the "Run from CD" 
  28. installation option because you cannot overwrite files on a CD-ROM.
