- Chris' 3d Benchmark
- --------------------------
-
- This 3d benchmarking program is meant to be an accurate benchmark
- of your computers CPU, FPU, memory, and video speed. It times the
- enviroment mapping of a 3d shape and then gives you a raw 'score'. This
- score reflects the speed of your computer and gives an indication of how it
- performs. The higher the score, the better. You can run this benchmark
- on multiple computers to get an idea of how they compare. I have been careful
- to make this score a accurate way of comparing computers, which is why
- it runs in 32-bit protected mode, and does 3d shaded objects (as newer games
- are starting to do). I hope you find it as accurate as I do.
-
- This ZIP file includes two executables. svgabnch.exe benchmarks your
- computer using the VESA video mode 640x480x256, while bench.exe just uses
- 320x200x256.
-
- I suggest you run this in a clean DOS boot. If this is not possible
- then at least try to get the system as 'clean' as possible and do not
- multitask it with other programs.
-
- I am trying to collect results for this benchmark, so if possible,
- please go to the System Optimization Homepage at:
- http://www.dfw.net/~sdw/chris3d.html and submit your results. If all you
- have is e-mail access you can e-mail your results, along with a description
- of you CPU/motherboard/video card/ect to cdial@jeffnet.org.
-
- System Requirements:
- --------------------
- - 386 processor (486 for SVGA benchmark)
- - An FPU
- - At least 2 Megs of RAM :)
- - A VGA video card for bench.exe
- - An SVGA video card for svgabnch.exe
