  14. Splitter is a utility to split large files into smaller ones. Splitter
  15. is different from other similar utilities in many ways,
  16.  
  17. 1- Splitter is very small.
  18. 2- Splitter is very fast.
  19. 3- Splitter free.
  20.  
  21. Splitter will attach itself to the first part of the archive. When you
  22. execute the first part of the archive, it will restore the original file
  23. and recreate itself.

  25. Important Notice
  26. ================

  28. If you use a utility that causes the long file names to be truncated,
  29. Splitter will not be able to recognize the archive parts.
  30. Use short file names or a utility that does not truncate file names.
  31.  
  32. Splitting Files
  33. ===============
  34.  
  35. Start spliter by double-clicking on the splitter icon.
  36. when the Splitter windows appear, click File to select the
  37. file you want to split int smaller files.
  38.  
  39. Select the size of the archive parts. The sizes available are
  40. 360 KB, 720 KB, and 1.44 MB.

  42. Click Split to split the file into smaller parts.
  43.  
  44. The newly generated files are named after the original file.
  45. If the original file name is FileNamexyz.ext
  46. The archive parts will be
  47. FileNamexyz_00.exe      <-------First part
  48. FileNamexyz_01.SSP
  49. FileNamexyz_02.SSP
  50. FileNamexyz_03.SSP

  53. FileNamexyz_99.SSP      <-------Last part

  55. The number of parts depends on the original file size and the
  56. part size you selected.

  58. UnSplitting Files
  59. =================
  60.  
  61. From the previous example, to UnSplit the file FileNamexyz,
  62. Double-click on the first part of the archive.
  63. The program will check to see if all the archive parts are
  64. available.
  65. Click UnSplit to create the original file. The unsplitter
  66. will also generate a copy of itself.
