- 16MB RAM

- 20MB free hard disk space

- Sound Blaster(tm) compatible sound card

- On faster machines select thousands of colors for optimal image quality.

- * Installation from CD
-
- The first time you insert the Intel Media Benchmark CD, the Windows95
- autorun process with initiate the setup procedure.

- Alternately, from the Start menu, choose Run and type the line shown
- below, assuming that the CD is in the D: drive:

- D:\SETUP
-
- You may also use the Windows Explorer and double-click on the
- SETUP.EXE program.

- Operation
- ==========================================================================

- * Running

- You will find the the Intel Media Benchmark program folder under
- Programs in the Windows 95 Start Menu.

- After launching the Intel Media Benchmark,
- click on the About Box or press any key to continue.

- * Starting the Benchmarks
-
- = Select "Run All" or a benchmark from the "Control" Menu Selection.

- - Press the right mouse button and choose a benchmark to run.

- - Click the "Run" button on the results dialog.

- * Results
-
- Results for each benchmark component are shown in the tabbed result
- dialog box. Click on any tab to view the score.

- Results are reported as a throughput metric.
- Larger numbers indicate better performance.

- * Install

- Problems have been seen when installing Intel Media Benchmark under
- low disk space conditions. If you receive a DirectX Setup failure
- message, try freeing more disk space and re-install.

- * DirectX(tm)
-
- The Intel Media Benchmark uses Microsoft Corporation's DirectX 3a Final
- Release (Version 4.04, December 1996). This version of DirectX currently
- operates only on Windows95.

- * System Information
-
- The System Information Dialog may not return the correct name of the
- active video card. This in no way affects the benchmark performance.

- * Windows NT
-
- The benchmark will operate on Windows NT but the 3D Graphics component
- is disabled. An overall score will therefore not be reported.

- * MMX(tm) Technology
-
- The Intel Media Benchmark supports MMX Technology Enhanced processors.
