  1. General Infomation for SBNews/NewsBot

  4. Purpose:

  6.   SBNews downloads and decodes news articles automatically. For further
  7.   info, please see NEWSBOT.HTM or NEWSBOT.DOC.

  9. SBNews is available in two versions:
  10.  
  11.   1) SBNEWSxx.ZIP ... 16-bit version, Windows 3.1, W4WG, etc
  12.   2) SBN32_xx.ZIP ... 32-bit version, Windows-95, Windows-NT
  13.   3) SBN32Zxx.ZIP ... 32-bit version without setup program
  14.  
  15. Installation:
  16.  
  17.   Run the program SETUP.EXE. This is a standard InstallShield setup program
  18.   and is a very common and user-friendly means of installing Windows
  19.   software. It should be self-intuitive, and should setup everything for
  20.   you. 
  21.  
  22.   I will also make a version without a setup program available under the file
  23.   name convention "SBN32Zxx.ZIP" (xx being the version number). You can use
  24.   the version without the setup program if you'd like to copy and install the
  25.   files manually.

  27. Documentation is included in two formats:
  28.  
  29.   1) HTML format: NEWSBOT.HTM, REGISTER.HTM, etc
  30.  
  31.      HTML format (HyperText Markup Language) files may be loaded by your
  32.      web browser, or various html utilities. The file is formatted much
  33.      nicer in HTML than in the plain ascii format below.
  34.  
  35.   2) Ascii format: NEWSBOT.DOC, REGISTER.DOC, etc
  36.  
  37.      A conversion of the HTML format files to plain ascii. If you don't
  38.      have a program that understands html, you can use these files.
