To create a square object select the Rectangle Vector or Bitmap tool and hold down the Shift key while dragging.
You can select or move an object while not in the Select tool by holding down the Control key.
To create a circular object select the ellipse Vector or Bitmap tool and hold down the Shift key while dragging.
In the Bezier Tool, dragging a line segment will move the whole segment. Dragging with the Alt key down will alter the curve.

To create and angled guide, drag out a normal page guide. At either end of the guide the Select tool cursor will change to a 4 way cursor. Click and drag the guide to any angle.
To duplicate a guide, use the Control key when over an existing guide, click and drag to a new position.
To select multiple objects, when in the Select tool, hold down the Shift key and click on an object. If the object is already selected, it will become unselected.
