- WDL (Windows Disk Labels) is due out August 1992. When you see WDL it will
- likely be Christmas, due to the slowness of the SHAREWARE channel. So we
- figured we could sneak an ad in, prior to general release:
-
- You know, we have worked with a number of label programs, some of which are
- supposed to be tuned for our laser printer. None are what we wanted. WDL is an
- object oriented labeler -- you can write text on a label and move it, place and
- size graphics images, draw lines, boxes with shadows, and so on. WDL is
- another ASL hybrid that incorporates basic drawing program functionality with
- a specific function in mind. Our product labels are now all being done with WDL
- and we're happy with the prototype. More important, WDL is colour - tuned and
- works well with our new colour Deskjet. (HP Deskjet 500C)
-
- Heck, we lied to WDL recently (we told it to work with a certain size of label)
- and started making business cards with it...
-
- As you see in the WCS addenda, WDL has a DDE hook into WCS. This means
- that aside from using WDL as a disk labeler you can also use it to make some
- very custom size labels as well, and do it directly from WCS. Videotape labels
- and cassette inserts come to mind as examples, but so far our growing customer
- list has not ceased to surprise us with the uses they think up for ASL products.
-
- If you'd like to evaluate WDL and cannot find it, call us. We'll (of course) also
- gladly accept your order for a full blown retail copy. < he said, smiling >
-
- Just call the number that appears in your ABOUT WCS box.
