  1. WDL (Windows Disk Labels) is due out August 1992. When you see WDL it will 
  2. likely be Christmas, due to the slowness of the SHAREWARE channel. So we 
  3. figured we could sneak an ad in, prior to general release:

  5. You know, we have worked with a number of label programs, some of which are 
  6. supposed to be tuned for our laser printer. None are what we wanted. WDL is an 
  7. object oriented labeler -- you can write text on a label and move it, place and 
  8. size graphics images, draw lines, boxes with shadows, and so on. WDL is
  9. another ASL hybrid that incorporates basic drawing program functionality with
  10. a specific function in mind. Our product labels are now all being done with WDL
  11. and we're happy with the prototype. More important, WDL is colour - tuned and
  12. works well with our new colour Deskjet. (HP Deskjet 500C)

  14. Heck, we lied to WDL recently (we told it to work with a certain size of label)
  15. and started making business cards with it...

  17. As you see in the WCS addenda, WDL has a DDE hook into WCS. This means
  18. that aside from using WDL as a disk labeler you can also use it to make some 
  19. very custom size labels as well, and do it directly from WCS. Videotape labels 
  20. and cassette inserts come to mind as examples, but so far our growing customer 
  21. list has not ceased to surprise us with the uses they think up for ASL products.
