Transcription: The letters ASDF and semicolon LKJ are called the home keys and this is where you must place your hands whenever you start typing as they form a base from which to move. Many keyboards have small raised dots or lines on the F and J keys to help you find the home keys by feel rather than by looking at the keyboard. Lay your fingers on the home keys gently to get the feel for this position. Starting to type from here is the key to learning to touch type.
