- products in the current CD Library

- the products on CDs 11, 10 & 9
-
- 5. Earlier ComponentSource CDs 8 & 7 have been retired
- and can now be discarded
-
- 6. To update your CD Library run SETUP on CD 11 and on
- any higher numbered CDs you receive
-
- i) On Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 run 'install' from the
- Add/Remove Programs applet in Control Panel.
-
- ii) For Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 and Windows NT 3.51 run
- SETUP.EXE in the CD's root directory from File Manager.
-
- 7. To launch the CD Browser press Start and select ComponentSource

-
-
- Minimum System Requirements :
-
- 486 66MHz (Pentium recommended)
- 12Mb RAM (16Mb recommended)
- 256 Colour VGA
- 8Mb Hard Disk
- Double Speed CD-ROM (Quad Speed recommended)
- Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11
- Windows95, Windows NT 3.51 or Windows NT 4.0 (32bit recommended)
-
-
- ComponentSource is designed to run best in 32bit Windows.
-
- Depending on which system files you already have installed,
- you will need on average approximately 5Mb of disk space on
- the drive that contains your Windows System directory and
- another 5Mb of disk space on the drive where you choose to
- install the program files.
-
- Files called CSINST16.LOG (for 16bit machines) and CSINST32.LOG
- (for 32bit machines) will be created in the target directory
- after the installation and will contain a list of all files
- that were copied onto your system. Please DO NOT delete these
- file as they are needed by the the UnInstall program, should you choose to run it.
-
- ComponentSource does not modify your WIN.INI, SYSTEM.INI,
- AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files in any way. Dynamic link
- libraries and other software components are copied to your Windows
- System directory. Older versioned or earlier dated files
- are copied to the backup directory you specified during the
- installation process. The installation program does not
- overwrite later versioned, later dated system files.
-
- Should you wish to obtain a list of files included in the
- installation kit or would like to manually extract any files
- contained within them, run SETUP16.EXE or SETUP32.EXE located
- in the \INFO directory with the "/X" command line parameter.
- You will find a full list of files together with file date,
- time and size information.
-
-
- 3. UnInstalling ComponentSource
- ===============================
-
-
- Run 'ComponentSource UnInstall' from the ComponentSource Program
- Group created during the installation process or from the Add/Remove
- Programs applet on the Control Panel (Win95/WinNT4.0 only).
-
- Uninstall gives you a choice of what you would like to remove. We
- recommend that you use the 'Automatic' option.
-
- **** IMPORTANT **** IMPORTANT **** IMPORTANT ****
-
- If the UnInstaller asks if you would like to remove shared DLLs
- that are not longer used, say 'No to All'. Removing shared files
- from Windows System, may stop other programs from working correctly.
-
-
- 4. Experiencing difficulties ?
- ==============================
-
-
- Problem - SETUP went through OK but get 'Error loading from file'
- or 'Object not found' when running the CD browser for the
- first time.
- Resolution - The OCX's needed by the CD browser are not correctly
- registered in the system registry. The program
- REG16.BAT (for 16bit machines) or REG32.BAT (for 32bit
- machines), found in the CD's HELPME\REGISTER
- directory, will register them correctly for you.
-
- To run REG16.BAT or REG32.BAT just double click it
- from either File Manager or Windows 95 Explorer.
- Several dialog boxes appear giving the status of
- each file registration. If any of the registrations
- fail, please call ComponentSource on
- +44 (0) 118 958 1111.
-
- Problem - On Win311, if you do not have an internet browser on your
- machine, ComponentSource will run the 16bit Microsoft
- Internet Explorer. The first time this is run it works
- fine but subsequently an error occurs if the option
- was selected to make it the default browser.
- Resolution - When running the Internet explorer for the first time
- select 'No' when asked if you would like to make the
- explorer your default browser.
-
