  3. This is a beta RELEASE CANDIDATE of WinImage professional 3.05.3044.
  4. WinImage 4.0 will normally be released this summer

  7. There is only Win32 version, but this beta normally run under Win32s 1.30c
  8.  
  9. As the final version will probably be soon released.
  10. Test it. Only beta tester can help me doing a version without regression bug !
  11. IT'S IMPORTANT BE SURE THIS NEW VERSION DON'T BROKE FUNCTION THAT WORK WELL IN 
  12. PREVIOUS VERSIONS!

  14. No Feature will normally be added in final. Only bugs fixes, adaptation of the
  15. help file and translation in foreign language.

  18. WinImage Professional 4.0 price for NEW USER of WinImage will be $60.
  19. WinImage Standard 4.0 price for NEW USER of WinImage will be $30.
  20. WinImage Standard 4.0 price for registered user of old WinImage will be FREE
  21. WinImage Professional 4.0 price for registered user of previous WinImage 
  22.                             or 4.0 Standard will be between $25 and $35

  24. Note that all upgrade from 1.0 to 3.0 and, upgrade to 4.0 standard for actual
  25. Registered user. I think 4.0 standard contain major user interface improvement.

  28. I can give on for $30 (if you have already WinImage license), or $60 (new user).
  29. This license will allow you redistribute SFX with beta 3040 and, of course,
  30. with the final 4.0.

  32. If you have no WinImage Pro license, you can use 30 days (30 REAL days : if you
  33. start test 1 July and use only even day, you can use until 1 September).
  34. After, you'll be switched in standard mode.

  39. What is new in WinImage 4.0 standard, since 3.0 :

  41. - Command line option
  42. - I've written a true wizard (several screen with Next and Previous !)
  43.                          as alternative of the Batch assistant dialog box.
  44. - Batch options can be saved in a .BWZ file
  45. - Display icon in taskbar when working : when WinImage work on floppy or in
  46.        batch assistant, it display an icon in Win95/NT4 taskbar. It blink
  47.        when user input needed. (see Option->Setting, general Tabs).
  48. - Automatically show WinImage when user input needed : When user is needed
  49.        (change floppy, error,...), WinImage come in foreground automatically.
  50.        So you can Minimize WinImage during long operation (floppy...), and be
  51.        sure don't forget it! (see Option->Setting, general Tabs).
  52. - Toolbar button are modern
  53. - New in this beta : If you have a FAT32 partition (created by Windows 95
  54.        OEMSR2), you cannot read this partition under Windows NTá4.0. With the
  55.        File connect Fat32 drive, you can open your partition under
  56.        WindowsáNTá4.0 (you need Administrative right).

  58. What is added in professional version 4.0 :
  59. - all feature of standard version
  60. - Self extractor with unlimited redistribution license (see wima_sfx.txt)
  61. - We can export the directory of the current image in text or HTML.
  62. - Print the directory of the image
  63. - Edit boot sector properties (ie load another boot sector file, edit a text
  64.                                                       in the boot sector...)
  65. - Support creation of large image of removable and hard disk under Windows NT
  66.     and Windows 95 large image (> 2.88 MB) are not loaded in memory, read and
  67.     write operation are done directly in image file
  68.        --> This is a new and very important option, test it if you can
  69.        --> Feedback (bug or positive is welcome)

  73. Command line option prototype in WinImage (std or pro) :
  74. 'WINIMAGE [source [destination] [options]]'
  75. 'WINIMAGE file.ima' : Load the file file.ima
  76. 'WINIMAGE file.ima A:' : Load the file file.ima, write on A: and exit
  77. 'WINIMAGE A: file.ima' : Load from floppy A: and save file.ima

  79. /F : Format when write a floppy in command line operation
  80. /E : Do Extract (second parameter can be destination)
  81. /X : Do Extract with sub-dir (second parameter can be destination)
  82. /Q : Always exit after command line operation
  83. /H : Hide main WinImage window
  84. /NX : Never exit after command line operation
  85. /Nxxx (where xxx is DMF1024, DMF2048, 144, 120...) : Create a new image
  86. /Txxx (where xxx is DMF1024, DMF2048, 144, 120...) : Transform image size
