- Thanks to Bob, W5KNE; QRZ DX; Chod, VP2ML; The DX Bulletin; Tedd,
- KB8NW; and the Ohio/Penn DX PacketCluster network for the items in
- this week's bulletin.
-
- ETHIOPIA. Look for ET3BH around 18077, 18140, 21028, 21295 and
- 24947 kHz. The two operating periods are from 1200 to 1400z and
- 1730 to 2000z. QSL via SM3HLL.
-
- SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS. Listen for Gavin, VP8GAV, aka GM0GAV, from
- October 22 to 29. Most action will be on 20 through 10 meter CW,
- but there is a possibility of some 40 meter work. QSL via GM0LVI.
-
- RODRIGUEZ ISLAND. Robert, 3B9FR is on both CW and SSB, but limited
- to 12, 17 and 30 meters. Once other antennas are obtained and
- installed he plans to get on other bands. Check 12 meters between
- 1330 and 1630z; 17 meters between 1700 and 1900z; and 30 meters
- between 0130 and 0230z.
-
- REPUBLIC OF GUINEA. 3X0DEX has been busy on RTTY. Check 7043 and
- 14084 kHz between 2300 and 2330z. There has also been SSB activity
- on the lower bands. Check 7060 kHz around 2130z and 75 meters
- around 2330z. QSL via Box 104, F-22650, Ploupalay, France.
-
- PETER 1 ISLAND UPDATE. Tony, WA4JQS, reports that CW op Bob, N4GCK,
- aka HI3RWA, has joined the team. One more good CW operator is
- needed. If interested, contact K0IR. K7HDK will be supplying
- satellite gear, so it looks like the team will be putting Peter 1 on
- AO-13.
-
- MIDWAY ISLAND. Scott, NH4/N7TNL, will be active through January 6
- on all bands, with activity being mostly CW, with some SSB. CW will
- be 36 kHz up from the band edge, on 18096 and 24896 kHz. For SSB
- try 7096/7236, 14236, 18135, 21336, 24936 and 28336 kHz. QSL via
- W1OO or the W7 bureau.
-
- PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Eric, WD3Q, hopes to be on for 7 to 10 days
- beginning around December 1. This spartan operation will be with
- QRP and wire antennas on the WARC bands only.
-
- LAST CHANCE FOR TRISTAN DA CUNHA. Roger, ZD9SXW, will be wrapping
- up operations on Friday the 22nd. His 80 meter activities are
- limited to an inverted vee antenna. Check 7003, 21023, 24893 and
- 28023 kHz. Roger is off of 160 meters due to storm related damage
- to the antenna for that band, though he did manage to make around 80
- Top Band QSOs. QSL via G3SXW.
-
- BELGIUM. Although not a rare country, prefix hunters will be
- interested in knowing that the call OT3T will be used from the QTH
- of ON4UN during the CQ WW SSB Contest.
-
- BURUNDI. Baldur, DJ6SI, was behind the 9U5DX operation that
- recently went QRT. Try 14025, 18081, 21023 and 24892 kHz, QSX up.
- QSLs for CW contacts go via DJ6SI. Cards for RTTY contacts go via
- DJ6JC.
-
- MORE ON VK9MM. Bill, VK4CRR, says that QSLs should be out around
- December 1. He reports that he and friends are already planning
- another BIG DXpedition. Could it be VK0/H, Bill?
-
- MORE ON 9G1XA. K0EU made nearly 18,000 Qs, most of which were on
- CW. RTTY activity accounted for around 900 Qs. QSLs should be
- ready in a month or so. QSL via K0EU.
