- GHANA. The DXCC Desk's 100 Most Needed Countries list referred to
- in last week's bulletin shows Ghana occupying the number 18 slot.
- During the past week there has been a flurry of activity from this
- African country, most of which was dominated by 9G1XA. XA has been
- on the low end of 30 meters around 2100z and 0025z, 20 meter RTTY on
- 14085 kHz around 0000z, and 17 and 12 meter SSB and CW between 2130
- and 2400z. QSL via K0EU.

- Recent PacketCluster spots of 9G1SB show only 20 meter SSB activity
- between 14245 and 14255 kHz from 2100 to 2345z. QSL CBA. 9G1MR has
- been worked on the 14243 kHz net.

- It will be interesting to see what impact this recent activity has
- on Ghana's placement on the Most Needed list. Thanks to the YCCC
- PacketCluster network.

- WAKE ISLAND. Members of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo ARC
- Propagation Experiment DXpedition are at the starting line. The
- team will include KC6CEX, AH6MM, AH9B, AB6EV, AH6ML and NH6UY. The
- itinerary calls for them being on Hawaii on August 30; Kwajalein,
- V73, on August 31; and Wake Island, KH9, from August 31 to September
- 10. They plan to be on 160 through 10 meters with power and decent
- antennas, 6 meters and even OSCAR 13. Special emphasis will be put
- on listening for openings to Europe and the east coast of the United

- CAMBODIA. This operation by Mike, VS6WV, has been changed to August
- 29 to September 2. Keep an eye on the PacketCluster screen. Thanks

- SAINT PAUL'S ISLAND. This DXpedition is scheduled for the first
- week of September. Landing permission granted by the Canadian Coast
- Guard has been obtained, as has authorization to use the CY9R call
- sign. Members of the Toronto CW Operator's High Speed Club, THSC,
- plan to operate CW and SSB on all HF bands and 160 meters. QSL via

- CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER AND NOVEMBER? WC5P and KH6DFW will sign
- T32BE and T32BI, respectively, September 8 to 13 and November 24 to
- 29 from Christmas Island. QSL their home calls. Thanks WC5P, W5KNE

- SINGAPORE. Strong signals from Far East stations 9V1YC, 9V1UU and
- 9V1WW have been heard and worked from New England. Listen for 9V1YC
- on 21029 kHz around 1700z, and 21285 kHz at 1645z; 9V1UU on 21213
- kHz around 1600z; and 9V1WW on 21245 kHz around 1530z.
