  4. This MSO software was written by N2IZB in BASIC for use with the PK-232 mutli
  5. mode data controller on IBM or compatable computers.   This is a very pre-
  6. liminary version of the MSO232 software, as BASIC is not a very good language
  7. for this type of application.
  8.  
  9. There are only a few command, and are basically self explanatory.  Here is some
  10. help is you need it.
  11.  
  12. .HELP Gives you a list of commands.
  13.  
  14. .EXIT Logs you out of the MSO.
  15.  
  16. .DIR Gives you a list of messages/files on the disk.  The . and .. files cannot    
  17.      be viewed.
  18.  
  19. .READ (file) lets you read a message/file.  The (file) name can only contain
  20.              numbers and letters and connot be more then 8 charaters long.
  21.          Example:  .READ HELP1
  22.  
  23. .WRITE (file) lets you write a message/file.  Again, the (file) name can only
  24.           contain letters and numbers and connot be more than 8 charaters
  25.           long.  If you are sending mail to another user, form the (file)
  26.           name like this:  A message from N2IZB to W1AW would look like
  27.           this:  1AW-IZB.  ** Do not use the - symbol any other time **

  29.           To start a message send the MSO the .WRITE (file) command and
  30.           hit CR/LF.  DO NOT drop carrier, start your message now.  When
  31.           you are done entering your message, type .END
  32.           Example:

  34. .WRITE TEST
  35. This is a test.
  36. .END
  37.  
  38.           At this point, drop carrier and the system will put you back at
  39.           the main menu.

  41. .END Ends a message/file.  Use the .WRITE command, and when you are finished
  42.      with your message, type the .END command.
  43.  
  44. .ABORT Aborts a message/file.  If you use the .WRITE command, and do not want
  45.        to save the file you have started, type this on a blank line.

  47. .RYS will send you a string of RY's for tuning purposes.  Always be tuned as
  48.     close as possible to the MSO's transmitter frequency.

  50. .TALK Will page the SysOp to chat.
  51.  
  52. Please enjoy the system.  Always make sure the frequency is not in use before
  53. logging into the MSO.
