  25.                              INTRODUCTION

  28. Whew! Now that we got the nonsense out of the way, I must say  
  29. This is my 1st try at the Shareware method. If it works, I may  
  30. add improvements to this program and work on some other HAM  
  31. related ideas I have. Being a ham myself I find that there is  a 
  32. very limited amount of Software available. Hopefully with  
  33. encouragement this will change. The reason I developed this  
  34. program was because I did not like the idea of paying such  high 
  35. prices for QSLCARDS and only having a limited selection. QSLCARDS
  36.  
  37. gives me an option to buy only a few cards to send out. so my 
  38. selection of cards is much greater. I have found that Name Badge 
  39. labels of the size 2 3/16" x 3 3/8' work very nicely.  These can 
  40. be gotten from just about any stationary store.They  are about $4
  41.  
  42. per hundred.

  46.                              INSTRUCTIONS 
  47.  
  48. When the program is loaded the 1st time you must create a  config
  49.  
  50. file. (QSL.CFG) The 1st prompt at the screen asks for  label 
  51. alignment. (Don't do this with your new labels do it on  some old
  52.  
  53. tractor feed paper). 
  54.  
  55. The Second prompt asks if you would like to create a config  
  56. file. Type Y (Yes) if this is your 1st time using QSLCARDS. If  
  57. not just hit return. 
  58.  
  59. The 1st prompt you will come to asks for the date of the  
  60. contact. You can put this in any way you like. Such as 6-27-89  
  61. or 27th June 1989 
  62.  
  63. The 2nd prompt is for the Frequency that the contact was made  
  64. on. Such as 14.205 
  65.  
  66. The 3rd prompt calls for the mode of contact such as LSB, USB,  
  67. CW E.t.c.

  71. The 4th prompt asks for the Callsign of the station worked. 
  72.  
  73. The 5th asks for the time of contact in UTC time. 
  74.  
  75. The 6th prompt asks for Signal strength. If you are using  LSB, 
  76. USB or FM, You only need to give the R/S and not the  R/S/T The T
  77.  
  78. is for the Tone in CW. 
  79.  
  80. Next is the Name of the QSL contact 
  81.  
  82. The 8th prompt asks how you would like the QSLCARD sent. The  
  83. selection is S/C/T If you type S the request for a QSLCARD is  in
  84.  
  85. return for yours is typed and says you are trying for the  W.A.S.
  86.  
  87. Award (Worked all states). If you type C, a request for a  
  88. QSLCARD is also typed but says that you are trying for the  
  89. W.A.C. Award (Worked all Countries). By typing a T the Line  "TNX
  90.  
  91. for the contact" is typed on the label. This is if you  have 
  92. already received a card from the contact.

  96. After having answered all the prompts if you type a letter S  (s)
  97.  
  98. the label will be typed. and prompts you for more. This is  
  99. asking if you want to continue with the same info such as Mode  
  100. frequency and date. If you say yes it will take you back to  the 
  101. prompt for a new call sign. If you say no, it will take you  to 
  102. the opening screen.

  106. I have tried to be fair in the price and am asking $10 for the  
  107. program. Of course help as much as you can. If you feel it is  
  108. worth more great. (Inspiration makes for more programs) But in  
  109. any case I hope you enjoy the program. With a donation,  
  110. Diskmailer and postage, will be sent a copy without the  register
  111.  
  112. me logo in the opening screen and the shareware screen will 
  113. magically disappear.
