  16. 1) AVP32(both) - ini-file avp.ini that boots from executable modules.
  17. avp.ini sets path to the bases.
  18.  
  19. 2) Current configurations saves by default in %WINDOWS% directory.
  20. If it doesn't have specified in avp.ini file.

  22. 3) Bases could be stored in any place over the network, but you shoud
  23. specifi the path in avp.ini file like it was described up.

  25. 4) It makes possible 3 scheme of installation:

  28. b) Local executables and remote bases
  29. c) Shared installation with local executables launch from shared folder with "read-only" rights.

  31. 5) AVP Monitor now supports Windows NT 3.51.

  33. 6) Possibility configuration AVP Monitor, to start Windows System
  34. Service in     case of local installation (if doesn't need Administrative

  40. The Antiviral Toolkit Pro for Windows 95&98 (AVP32) is a complete package 
  41. of protection against computer viruses. It represents a new step in the 
  42. struggle against computer viruses and is optimized for the work 32-bit 
  43. applications of Microsoft Windows 95&98. AVP uses all possibilities of these 
  44. operation platphorms. AVP is easy to be used, it has a very large antivirus 
  45. database, which is constantly being updated to as new viruses appear.

  50. AVP for Windows 95&98 requires operation system Windows 95&98.

  52. Setup on Windows 95&98
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54. To install AVP into your computer carry out the following steps:
  55. - insert the disk with AVP;
  56. - run SETUPAVP.EXE;
  57. - follow all of the instructions of installation of AVP;
  58. - to register AVP please type number pointed in your registration card
  59.   or any number in case of evaluation copy.

  62. The main features of AVP

  64. AVP 3.0:
  65. - scans disks, operative memory, files, and sectors of disks, and system 
  66. areas (Boot sector, MBR, Partition table) to detect and eliminate viruses; 
  67. - detects and removes the next types of viruses; 
  68.     - polymorphic (mutants); 
  69.     - stealth viruses; 
  70.     - special viruses which have been written for Windows 95; 
  71.     - macro viruses in Word and Excel; 
  72. - uses a Code Analyzer which is able to detect about 80% of unknown viruses; 
  73. - has a mode of scanning packed files (Unpacking Engine); 
  74. - has a mode of scanning arcieved files (Extracting Engine);
  75. - a possibility of automatical scanning; 
  76. - a wide range of settings;
  77. - powerful Help system.

  80. - The difference between EVALUATION and commercial version of AVP

  82. The evaluation copy of AVP:
  83. - has no cure infected objects;
  84. - has no code analyzer to analyse unknown viruses;
  85. - can not be installed from a network server (only from workstation).

  88. Support of users and distribution of the new antivirus databases (updates)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90. You can get a technical information, updates of antivirus databases and a 
  91. new versions of AVP from the AVP-distributor who sold you AVP. To update  
  92. a current version of AVP:
  93. - copy the new anti-virus measures (known as virus definitions) into the 
  94. AVP  working catalogue;
  95. - replace the current AVP.SET file with the one you received with new 
  96. updated definitions.
