  1. MineSweeper version 1.2.0

  4. This program is an OS/2 2.0 version of MineSweeper, a game distributed
  5. by Microsoft as a part of their Entertainment Pack for Windows, and
  6. included with Windows 3.1.  I attempted to be faithful to the original
  7. game when designing my interface, so current MineSweeper users will not
  8. have any learning curve.  I have added a few features not found in the
  9. Microsoft game, and I plan to add more in the future.

  11. MineSweeper is a 32-bit executable for use with the OS/2 operating
  12. system version 2.0 or greater and it's Presentation Manager graphical
  13. interface.  It will not operate on 16-bit versions of OS/2, such as 1.2
  14. and 1.3.

  16. To run MineSweeper, either double click on it's icon or type "start
  17. mine" from a text session.  If you make a program reference icon for it,
  18. be sure the startup directory is the same directory that the program and
  19. its files reside in.

  21. To learn how to play the game, choose "Extended Help" from the "Help"
  22. menu and read the screens.  They should describe the game completely.

  24. Note that help will not be available unless the file MINE.HLP exists in
  25. the same directory as the MINE.EXE program.

  27. When you quit MineSweeper for the first time, a MINE.INI file will be
  28. created in the program's directory.  It will contain all your settings,
  29. including the high scores and the window's position.  To reset
  30. everything, just delete this file and it will be created with blank data
  31. the next time you run MineSweeper.

  47. anonymous ftp to cdrom.com.  It should be found in the /os2/2_x/games
  48. directory.  While I may upload this package elsewhere, and others may
  49. upload it wherever they choose, I guarantee that this site will have the
  50. latest version I release.
