The Summary View allows you to have a single, unique monitor view for each resource module.
Choose Monitor View Preferences from the Module menu in Summary View to customize each module's monitor view.
Create custom alarms and their associated actions by double-clicking on any 'Create New Alarm' icon.
Assigning alarms to resources is as simple as dragging and dropping resource icons into alarm icons.
You can drag-and-drop multiple resources onto a single alarm. You can also drag-and-drop one resource to multiple alarms .
To set one alarm that has multiple actions, click on the alarm type you want to duplicate and press the Insert key.
You can copy values from one alarm row to another using standard cut and paste operations.
When viewing any table, single click on columns to sort the table data. Every click on a column header toggles the sort between ascending and descending order.
Data in a chart will be sorted by the last sorted column in the corresponding table.
The fields shown in some tables can be customized. Choose View Options from the Monitor Views menu in Detail View to change the columns displayed.
There are many view windows you can open. You may want to keep the number of open windows to a reasonable level to avoid confusion and conserve system resources.
The Summary View allows only one type of monitoring view per resource. Go to Detail View to see multiple views per resource simultaneously.
When viewing charts, hold down both the right and left mouse button and move the mouse to rotate the 3D graphic view.

For options to be display under the Host menu, you must select the local host name in the resource browser.
The Description. option from the Host menu provides information about the selected host, including host type, IP address, and the software version.
If a remote resource is not responding, go to Summary View and look at the Resource Browser. If a red 'x' is over the host, the connection has been lost.
Be careful what you transmit. When transmitting packets at 100% of network bandwidth, it is possible to flood the network and cripple performance.
Make sure that the transmit streams you want are activated before you load the transmit specification onto the resource.
The transmission mode is not saved as part of the transmit specification, so it should be checked before each resource is loaded.
Transmitted packets can be sent to another resource. Use sequence numbers to aid in analyzing the packets at the receiving end.
Using bursts is the easiest way to simulate high traffic conditions.
Always save your defined transmit specification using the dialog box.
A capture filter will filter data before it arrives in a capture buffer.
A capture filter can also be applied to the real-time Monitor View by selecting 'Apply Capture Filter to Monitor' from the Module --> Capture Filter menu.
The Display Filter allows the user to filter the data being viewed from the capture buffer.
Use quick mode filters for capturing or displaying station-to-station or router-to-router activity.
Always attach a description to the filter you are saving using the Description menu item.
Leave the Display Filter Description window open when using display filters to view the capture buffer. When the window is closed the filter is no longer active.
In the Capture Filter window, use the right mouse button to learn about the options available for any statement in a filter.
