  12.                     IMP/TIP MEMORY RETROFIT SCHEDULE

  14.    During the first several months of 1973 we will be retrofitting each
  15.    IMP and TIP with additional core memory.  At the end of the retrofit
  16.    program, the memory sizes of the various machines will be as follows:
  17.  
  18.       IMP (516 or 316) - 16K words
  19.  
  20.       TIP - 28K words
  21.  
  22.       TIP with magnetic Tape Option - 32K words
  23.  
  24.    In addition, the expansion of the TIP core memory will necessitate
  25.    enlarging the TIP to two cabinets.
  26.  
  27.    Listed below is the preliminary schedule for these retrofits.  We
  28.    have arranged this schedule to coincide with the usual monthly
  29.    Preventive Maintenance at each site so as to minimize user
  30.    inconvenience, but the work required will frequently require the
  31.    machines to be down longer than normal.  I will issue additional
  32.    RFC's updating this schedule as necessary.
