- Description : Levels I made during the Epoch of Lawlessness,
- 1995. {(c) S.A. 1987}
-
- These levels are best enjoyed with the -respawn
- parameter on, say, Hurt me Plenty. Enjoy the
- descending pyramid on mission 2, it can be quite
- a bitch (a git, even) if you go a little too fast.
- They have been designed for single player mode, but
- Deathmatch and Multiple Player games are possible,
- they just arent optimised for them. Feel free to
- do this yourself.
-
- You can play these in any order you want, because
- I give out a lot of weapons in every single level.
- I dont believe in giving you a plasma gun at the
- end of level 8, so you can use it for 2 minutes
- (Its hidden in level 1, btw!).
-
- Any comments welcome. The fact that these were all
- designed and tested on a 16MHz 386 should make you
- appreciate them more. I hope. Ill try them on a
- 66MHz DX2 soon.
-
- {When I first started E1M3, I was planning on basing
- the level on the second floor of the Regional
- Technical College in Tallaght, Dublin. But it was
- when I had the mezzanine, the foyer and the stairs
- done that I realised my college wouldnt make for
- a decent Doom level. So everything after that is
- my imagination. So there you go.}
-
- There is a hidden swimming pool on E1M4, and
- credits for the original concept go to the author
- of Swimpool.wad and to Jens Hykkelbjerg, who keeps
- a good web page on Doom special effects. Dont try
- and fix any problems with sectors 107 - 110 (I
- think they're the ones...) because they only work
- by being inconsistent.
-
- Also contained in the zip is a DeHackEd patch...
- just something to try to add to the Git experience.
- Edit it freely, because it was made from a lot of
- other DeHackEd patches. I included it simply
- because its my favourite one.
-
- In the future i'll add new sounds to the wad,
- given a bit of time. I might even record a few
- .lmp's for those who can't figure the secrets out.
-
- Copy them, distribute them...blah...blah...If I
- chance upon these levels on a bbs or ftp site
- someplace and this file isnt with them there'll be
- Hell On Earth. A game which I have never played,
- due to the fact that I dont own a real machine yet.
-
- To run the levels, unzip to your doom
- directory and enter: GIT

-
- Base : New levels from scratch.
- Editor(s) used : DEU 5.21; BSP to build the nodes; REJECT 1.1 to
- speed them up; WADCAT 0.6 to put them together.
- Known Bugs : E1M1 never clocks up 100% secrets, no matter
- what! Solutions/Suggestions???
-
- I wasnt able to find an optimal threshold for
- REJECT, so I left it at 500. Its probably just my
- machine, but feel free to fool around with the
- reject table. Run it through DEU's nodes builder
- if you havent got REJECT, this will wipe any of my
- changes to it.
