  6. Here are some details that didn't make it into the manual...
  7.

  10. ChipMem only Amigas
  11.  
  12. Some Amigas (mostly WB3.1 machines) do not have enough memory to load
  13. a music module. There is little we can do about this, so its time for
  14. you to upgrade! We promise the game is much much better with a
  15. cheap accelerator board.

  19. Some Microbotics 030 boards, and possibly the Warp Engine 040 board :
  20.  
  21. Crashes occur frequently on some of these boards. Since we don't
  22. have access to one we haven't yet been able to solve the problem
  23. but we have done a patch (included on this disk) that will allow
  24. XTR to work properly. Simply copy the file called 'nomusic' from
  25. this disk (disk 3) either onto the program disk (floppy users) or
  26. into the directory containing XTreme Racing.
  27.  
  28. You will now have no music on the menus.
  29.  
  30. Do not select music on the game, and if you find that the game itself
  31. frequently crashes also turn the sound effects off from the 'set up'
  32. menu. If we solve this problem properly, a patch will appear on Aminet
  33. and our BBS. Please call me if you have any details on this problem.

  35. To remove the patch simply delete the nomusic file.

  43. Deathmatch Games
  44.  
  45. On deathmatch games you will see several numbers at the top right of
  46. each player's play area. The top number is the total number of kills
  47. minus the number of suicides. If the game is set to end after 5 kills
  48. for example, this is the number to watch out for. The numbers below this
  49. are the number of times you have killed all the other players. Your
  50. player is signified by '--'.

  52. e.g. For 4 players
  53.

  58. Means this is player 1, and he has killed player two 5 times,player three
  59.  4 times, and player four 2 times. He has also killed himself once, hence
  60. the total number of kills = 10.

  64. Lap Times & Save Option on the Menus
  65.  
  66. Selecting this will save out all the controls, modules setups, screen
  67. preferences, and so on. It will also save all the best lap times.

  69. *** Lap Times are not automatically saved after races ***

  71. Also note that lap times are not saved out for computer cars because
  72. this would be no fun, and not from seasons because you can have
  73. faster engines in this mode. Single race times can be saved however.

  77. Press ESC or the Play Button (CD32 Pad) while loading a track to abort
  78. a season.

  86. To play a network game, one machine must select 'null modem master'
  87. and the other 'null modem slave'. If the connection fails, simply
  88. try again. Its possible that the link may fail very now and again in which
  89. case the game will 'time-out' after a few seconds. this can take up to
  90. about 40 seconds in some cases.
