  8. Actually, Xit was written to replace XDrop by Martin A. Blatter which was
  9. issued in 1992. As a matter of fact, Xit is adding some new functionnalities
  10. to its 'ancester' XDrop.

  12. Functions of Xit :

  15. Packing/unpacking file(s) or drawer(s)
  16. AppIcon / AppWindow
  17. Fast information about any present packing library
  18. Xit can pop up a window to show the evolution of the (un)packing
  19. A beep can be heard when the (un)packing is over
  20. The destination drawer for the packed files can be chosen
  21. You can choose either to keep or delete the source file
  22. The icon of the file is copied if present
  23. A default icon can be added if not present
  24. The user interface of Xit is MUI based. The windows can be easyly resized
  25. Easy install thanks to the Installer script
