  10. --- SUPERFROG Hard Disk Installer ---

  12. This installer requires the ORIGINAL disks from Superfrog (there are 3)
  13.  
  14. It will NOT work for cracked versions of Superfrog.
  15.  
  16. The HD-Patched game will need about 5Mb of memory.
  17. Thanks to a user who had problems with 1MB Chip and 4MB Fast, I rewrote
  18. the memory routines and it now works (but you cannot quit or save high scores).
  19.  
  20. It should work on ALL Kickstarts and ALL CPUs (up to '060).
  21. Report me any bugs you'll find.
  22.  
  23. Note: I created and tested this package with a A1200/060/50 16Mb, so there should
  24. be no problems for all 680x0 CPUs (caches,chipset...). It degrades display properly
  25. so Multiscan users won't have any sprite or screen problem.
  26. All my installers are now fixed for A3000/A4000 users (thanks Robert :-) )
  27. However, I think some MMU softkicked amigas will not be able to run the patch
  28. properly. I can't do the impossible, sorry...

  31. When the disks are copied during installation, the pointer freezes. That's
  32. normal cause the game uses a custom trackload routine (copy-protection), and
  33. it does not easily multitask. No checks are done to see if you swapped the disks
  34. or not.

  39. - Convenient install script provided (adapted from Bert Jahn's ones)
  40. - Full use of fast memory, improved for V1.1. Now only needs less than 4MB of fast memory.
  41. - Fully 680x0 compatible without modifications
  42. - Load/Save Hi-Scores now work with hard drive or floppy on request (NOOSSWAP tooltype)
  43. - F10 key allows you to quit the game at any time (5MB of fast required).
  44. - Introduction HD installed too

  46. WARNING:

  48. - You have to load the high scores by the LOAD SCORES option. This is not done at startup.
  49. - Do NOT use a copyback disk cache on your games partition. This could be harmful if you reboot
  50.   the computer before you quit the game, if you use the SAVE SCORES option (disk buffers not
  51.   updated).

  70. for 680x0 or write HD-Installers (NO WAY FOR CRACKED VERSIONS).

  80. This patch can be distributed freely, but I'd appreciate that you drop me a line
  81. if you include it in a coverdisk or PD collection.

  83. However, FFD (France Festival Distribution) is not allowed to include it in any
  84. of its PD disks (if you read usenet in fr.comp.sys.amiga, you'll know why).
  85. It's the only exception for the distribution.
