  31. DESCRIPTION
  32.  
  33.      An editor for use with the Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit
  34.      game (published by MicroProse Software).  It is very easy to use,
  35.      with a standard 2.0 look graphical user interface (even on KS 1.x!)
  36.      and on-line help should you need it.
  37.  
  38.      Allows you to alter most of the in-game setup, including computer
  39.      car performance, car/helmet/pitcrew colours, car fragility and many
  40.      other things (and I MEAN many!).  Sound samples can also be replaced,
  41.      cockpit graphics changed, and lap records and setups printed.
  42.  
  43.      Changes can be saved directly to a copy of the game which is running
  44.      in memory, or to the main file used by the game for a more permanent
  45.      change.
  46.  
  47.      Also incorporated in the main program are a number of memory patches,
  48.      including Toni Wilen's GPPatch and Grant Reeve's PatchF1GP.
  49.  
  50.      F1GP-Ed breathes new life into an ageing, but excellent game.  1994,
  51.      1995, 1996 and 1997 sample datafiles supplied for those who don't want
  52.      to mess about.
  53.  
  54.      The program itself is auto-enhancing, which means that it will run
  55.      on a basic A500 with KS 1.2, but will make use of KS 2.x or KS 3.x
  56.      specific routines on suitable machines to make itself even better.
  57.  
  58.      Supported languages:

  60.      English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish,
  61.      Finnish, Norwegian and Czech.

  63. NEW FEATURES
  64.  
  65.    o The "in-game" palette can now be altered
  66.    o GPPatch: font is now user selectable, HUD size can be preset, HUD can
  67.      be enabled automatically, the "right-shift" car setup change can be
  68.      disabled.  Reduced chip ram usage, plus the required chip ram is now
  69.      allocated dynamically (only if you actually install GPPatch).  Display
  70.      position is no longer hardcoded - uses same position as F1GP is using
  71.    o Added Hall of Fame options to the Statistics window to configure the
  72.      HoF lap record output
  73.    o Added option to allow the "Abandon Qualifying" requestor to be skipped
  74.    o The position of the game display can now be preset
  75.    o Moved "frame rate", "target display" and "detail" options to the new
  76.      Display window
  77.    o Moved "reverse steering help" option to the Car Control window - god
  78.      knows why I didn't put it there to begin with! ;-)
  79.    o Improved the way the Graphics window trys to load the image - if it
  80.      fails to open the file, it will try and open the file (without path)
  81.      from the same directory as the graphics settings file
  82.    o Cockpit designs can now be viewed directly from within F1GP-Ed
  83.    o The backdrop (.bkg) files used by F1GP's menus can now be replaced
  84.      with other images
  85.    o Main window can now be resized
  86.    o Optimized all memory load/save and patch install/removal routines
  87.    o Improved font sensitivity calculations for proportional fonts - should
  88.      result in more compact windows (tested with over 50 different fonts)
  89.    o Updated f1gp.library - V35.2 (minor code optimizations)
  90.    o Altered behaviour of the PATCH and SAVETOMEM tooltypes/cli options -
  91.      if any of these are specified and F1GP isn't present in memory, error
  92.      messages won't be displayed any more
  93.    o Saving cockpit designs to memory now works properly
  94.    o Fixed bug in Nigel Rowe's McLaren-D cockpit (gear indicator no longer
  95.      blanks out)

  97. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  98.  
  99.      Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit game by Geoff Crammond,
  100.      published commercially originally by MicroProse Software.  The game
  101.      has now been re-released by Guildhall Leisure on the Acid label.
  102.  
  103.      Approximately 1.5Mb of free ram needed to load the game and the
  104.      editor to be able to use the memory patches.  But, the editor
  105.      itself and most of the features will work on machines with less
  106.      memory.

  133.      develop the program, and as a bonus all features will be enabled.
