MaxSuperCD
~~~~~~~~~~
(C) C.C.Wilson, Sysop of Amiga Phoenix BBS (Liverpool) (+44) 151 283 6406
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
This may be included on a CD compilation as long as
I am sent a copy of the CD it is to be included on.
What is it ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This program is a menu style program that will allow users to access
any CD0: device and download files from the CD.
ANY CD can be used, no config file is required, as the CD is scanned
to self-navigate.
* Up to 50 sub-directories and 1200 files PER DIRECTORY are allowed *
* so within these limits, anything should work fine :-) *
You can change directory simply by highlighting the directory on the
left-hand menu, and press ENTER, or move out of the directory with
ESCAPE.
The registered version will show file size (if asked), and show the
file description (ie. readme text).
If it's an archive, it will attempt to remove any file_id.diz and
display that. LHA, LZH, LZX, ZIP and DMS files are handled like this :)
It's pretty fast (using Aminet CD's anyway), but 17-Bit Compilations
make take a while to scan as all the files are in one directory.
How do I set it up ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make a directory called MaxSuperCD in DOORS: and copy the program to
it. Temporary files will be made in RAM: as required to allow the
program to 'navigate' itself around.
Run the program as an ordinary door using function 34.
Shareware
~~~~~~~~~
** LET ME KNOW WHICH PROGRAM YOU WANT **
United Kingdom
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This version is shareware - for UK users, I would like THREE POUNDS
to register for the full version. I will send it within a few days
of receiving your remittance.
Uploading it to your BBS is the easiest (and preferred) method.
For your money, you will receive a version that will allows the file
size to be shown, and also a facility to read files from the CD.
People who have registered for the CLI based CD-Rom door need only
send me TWO POUNDS :-)
Elsewhere
~~~~~~~~~
Overseas sysops need to work a little harder to register - i'd like
a postcard please ;-) and i'll try to e-mail you as soon as possible.
* YOU WILL NEED AN INTERNET ACCOUNT TO GET THE REGISTERED VERSION *
Bugs
~~~~
I think it's my grotty SCSI CD connector causing the problem (because
it sometimes has problems seeing the CD at all) but it's locked up
twice on me during extensive testing - it couldn't read the CD, maybe
for the reason given above.
Only CD0: is supported, no other CD's (ie. multi-changers) can be
accessed.
Bugbears
~~~~~~~~
I'm not that happy about the key arrangements, but it was the best
I could come up with, and they're all close to each other, so with
practice it's easy :-}
Warning(!)
~~~~~~~~~~
Don't change my advert, it's error trapped to lock your machine :-)
Hahahaha hohohohoh hehehehe HuHuHuHuHu
- i've got to get my users from *somewhere* ;-)
