  10. This distribution updates TurboCalc 4.0 to the latest version of TurboCalc
  11. (for more information see history below).
  12. This archive only contains dif(ference)-files, so these files are
  13. only usefull if you own the full version of TurboCalc 4.

  15. NOTE: Although this archive is freely distributable this does not
  16. apply to the updated file(s)/program(s). The updated files have the same
  17. copyright protection as the old versions! In other words:

  22. Updating TurboCalc:

  24. 1. Insert the original TurboCalc4CD (or diskette #1 if you own the disk set)
  25.    (This is needed for the installer, for the update utility and for
  26.    the original TC4.0 files)
  27. 2. Start the respective installer script (in your language's drawer and
  28.    - if you own the diskset - the '_Disk Version_) by double-clicking
  29.    the icon.

  51.   Workaround for version 4.00 to run arexx script 'scriptname':

  55.   correctly if the default font's height wasn't 8 (e.g. topaz/8)

  79.   correctly (with increment 1). For V4.0 you had to select at least
  80.   two columns.

  82. * Solved a problem when using '#' in a formula and no macro was
  83.   called before (Now # points to the current sheet.)
  84.   Please note that '#' should only be used within a macro command (as
  85.   it is a reference to the running macro sheet and when TurboCalc
  86.   calculates a formula there normally is no macro sheet).
  87.   When used in a formula '#' now points to the last macro sheet
  88.   or to the current sheet the last macro sheet is not valid.

  90. + Freezing a number of rows/columns that is larger than the
  91.   number of visible rows/columns now does not lead to a corrupt
  92.   display any more.
  93.   Note: But please note that in these cases the sheet can't be
  94.   scrolled any more due to the logic of freezing. Thus this kind
  95.   of freezing is not usefull at all in most cases.

  97. + When moving or sizing an object that is (partly) located in
  98.   a frozen row/column (i.e. in the title range) the view is
  99.   first moved to A1 so that the object can moved correctly.

  101. + LOADCONFIG/SAVECONFIG in macromode now sets a return value
  102.   (TRUE if successfull, else FALSE - like LOAD, SAVE, etc)
  103.   It simply stopped macro execution before.

  105. + AUTOMATIC macros now can be located on any sheet of the folder.
  106.   (In TC4.00 only automacros of the first sheet are started.)
  107.   But please note: TurboCalc still only starts *one* automacro per
  108.   folder. If you want to run multiple macros when loading the sheet,
  109.   create a new automacro that starts all the others.

  111. + When printing or saving charts the bottom title is now printed
  112.   correctly. I also changed the position of the (two) title lines,
  113.   so that they look a bit better.

  115. + Drag&Drop when entire rows/columns are selected:
  116.   When pressing the left/right mouse button to start a drag&drop
  117.   the effective range (i.e. the range where cells are used) is
  118.   calculated from the selected rows/columns and used instead of
  119.   the selected rows/columns.
  120.   This avoids moving a lot of unused cells when moving entire
  121.   rows/columns.

  123. - Sheet refresh optimzed when modifying a single cell/single row
  124.   (e.g. by clearing a cell, changing the cell format, ...)
  125.   In this cases only the respective cell/line is redrawn (same
  126.   behavier as for entering cell contents).
  127.   Note that other lines or the entire sheet can still be redrawn
  128.   due to automatic recalculation.

  130. . (German version only) Default sheet name changed to "Blatt"
  131.   Der Blattname ist nun "Blatt" (wie er auch bei TC4.0 sein sollte)

  133.   Hinweis: Der Standard-Blattname (des ersten Blattes einer Mappe) wird
  134.   zusammen mit der Std-Einstellung gespeichert. Entsprechend wird
  135.   sich dieser ggf. nicht ändern sondern weiterhin "Tabelle1" sein.
  136.   Abhilfe: TurboCalc starten, "Blatt umbenennen" in gewünschten
  137.   Std-Namen (etwa "Blatt1") und dann Einstellungen speichern.
