\b0 \par
When creating text boxes with Microsoft PowerPoint you may notice that the spacin
g between text lines seems inconsistent. This can happen if you create restraining text boxes by drawing a rectangle or square on your slide. \par
\par
When working in a restraining text box and you hit the return key before reaching the end of the tex
t box, PowerPoint thinks you are starting a new paragraph. PowerPoint will then set the before paragraph value to be .5 (the default). This will give the illusion of an incorrect line spacing setting).\par
\par
If the above behaviour is not expected, u
se one of the following methods to revert or eliminate this behaviour:\par
\par
Method 1: Create the text box by doing the following:\par
a Single click on the text tool (represented as an A on the toolbar) to select.\par
b Single click on your slide
. You should see a flashing I-beam on the slide.\par
c Type your first line of text then hit the return key. PowerPoint will now treat the second line of text as the same paragraph.\par
\par
Method 2: If your text is already created, change the befor
e paragraph value to zero:\par
a Single Line Spacing from the Format menu. \par
b Click Line Spacing from the Format menu. If you are working with PowerPoint 3.0 you will find the Line Spacing dialog in the Text menu.\par
c Change the Before Paragrap
h value to zero.\par
\par
Quick tip\par
In PowerPoint 4, there's no 'repeat last action' command whereas a great feature in PowerPoint 7 is that you can use CTRL + Y or choose repeat from the edit menu.
