- Ready cash: Cards in the hand that can take an immediate trick.
-
- Eventual winner: This is a winner that becomes ready cash
- after the opposition has played the card blocking yours.
-
- Distribution winner: A distribution winner results when
- you have a longer suit than either of your opponents.
-
- Direct Finesse: When your left hand opponent has the
- king, and dummy has the ace/queen, you lead a small
- card toward dummy. If your opponent plays the king,
- you play the ace, and if your opponent plays low, you
- you play the queen. Either way you win the trick and
- remain in position to capture the king.
-
- Indirect Finese: When dummy has the king, and your left
- hand opponent has the ace, you lead a low card toward
- dummy. If the opponent plays the ace, dummy plays
- low, and now the king is good. If opponent plays
- low, dummy plays the king and takes the trick.
