  3. Five card suit or better, HCPC 6 - 9*.   The
  4. point requirement for this bid is even less
  5. with a longer suit and little support for
  6. clubs.  For example use OPC 6  as a bottom with
  7. a seven card suit and 3 clubs or less.  Remember
  8. partner may have only three clubs.  You should be
  9. prepared to play the hand at 2D, but this is
  10. preferable to your partner playing in a three or
  11. four card suit with no support from you.

  13. *With a better hand, player should bid 2D over
  14. 1C.  You cannot make a preemtive jump bid to
  15. 3D unless the opposition intervenes.
