  3. Lucasfilm Games (tm) presents The Secret of Monkey Island.  
  4.  
  5. Please read the entire file before playing. 
  6.  
  7. If you have any questions about this demo, call Lucasfilm Games between the 
  8. hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time at (415) 662-1902.

  10. HARD DRIVE INSTRUCTIONS:
  11.  
  12. To install The Secret of Monkey Island on a hard disk: 
  13.  
  14. Make a directory called MIDEMO and copy the disk into that 
  15. directory.  At the hard disk prompt (usually "c>"), do the following:
  16.  
  17. 1.   Type     mkdir \midemo    and press ENTER.
  18. 2.   Type     cd \midemo       and press ENTER.
  19. 3.   Type     copy a:*.*       and press ENTER to copy the files onto 
  20.                                your hard disk.
  21.  
  22. To start the game from your hard disk, use these commands: 
  23.  
  24. 1.   Type     c:               and press ENTER.
  25. 2.   Type     cd \midemo       and press ENTER.
  26. 3.   Type     midemo           and press ENTER to start the game.
  27.  
  28. FLOPPY DISK DRIVE INSTRUCTIONS:
  29.  
  30. To play The Secret of Monkey Island from a floppy disk drive, insert 
  31. the diskette into the drive and switch to that drive; at the MS-DOS 
  32. prompt (usually "a:"), enter     MIDEMO     to start.

  34. PLAYER CONTROLS:
  35.  
  36. To move Guybrush Threepwood (your character), simply point your 
  37. cursor (with the mouse or keypad) at the place in the animation window 
  38. where you want him to go, and click (or press ENTER).  If you point 
  39. to an open door and click, Guybrush will walk through it.  
  40. To examine or "use" an object, select the verb then point to the 
  41. object and click.

  43. To exit the demo and return to DOS, press Control-C.
