- README.LP 07/23/90
- This README file lists enhancements to the files on the Program
- diskette(s). These enhancements are not yet documented in the
- Reference Manual. Please refer to the README files on the other
- master diskettes for additional information.
-
- BACKUP
- When you use the Timed Backup feature, LetterPerfect will save
- the backup file, LP{LP}.BK1, in the directory specified in Setup
- as the Location of Document Files. If no directory has been
- specified, LetterPerfect will save the file in the directory
- where LP.EXE is located. Network users should be aware that
- this directory must have read/write rights for the timed backup
- file to be written there.
-
- GRAPHICS SCREEN TYPE
- The file, STANDARD.VRS, contains graphics screen drivers for CGA,
- EGA, VGA, MCGA, and Hercules systems. This file is used to
- access graphics display for the View Document feature.
-
- On hard drive systems, the Installation Program places this file
- in the directory where LP.EXE is located. On floppy drive
- systems, the Installation Program will create a file called
- LP.VRS on the LetterPerfect 2 disk. LP.VRS contains only the
- driver for the graphics display you are using at the time of
- installation. If you change the graphics card or monitor on your
- system, you should use the Installation program to reinstall
- LP.VRS, allowing LetterPerfect to automatically select a driver
- for the new card or monitor.
-
- LANGUAGE
- Each time you insert a Language Code in your document,
- LetterPerfect places a Decimal Character code [Decml/Algn Char]
- (containing the alignment character and the thousands' separator
- for that language) immediately after the language code.
-
- OFFICE 3.0
- Registered users of Office 3.0 should be aware that the example
- macros supplied with that product are not currently supported
- with LetterPerfect.
-
- STARTUP OPTIONS
- The startup option, /NH, is useful for overcoming problems
- starting LetterPerfect on some older AT&T machines (those
- equipped with the first version of the Phoenix BIOS). This
- switch will also inhibit the Print to Hardware Port feature.
