  4.   Select the LAN driver for the network board
  5.  in your workstation.
  6.  If the driver you need isn't on the list,
  7.  press <Insert>.
  8.  You will then be prompted to insert a diskette
  9.  containing the driver and its associated
  10.  description file.

  12.   WSGEN lets you select and configure a LAN
  13.  driver for your DOS workstation. It then
  14.  generates the workstation software.
  15.  Before running WSGEN, configure and install
  16.  the networking hardware for your workstation.
  17.  To receive help, press <F1> at any time. 
  18.  Insert LAN_DRV_??? Diskette        Help 1 of 2
  19.   To select a driver that is not supplied by
  20.  Novell, insert the LAN_DRV_??? diskette in any
  21.  drive; then press <Escape>.
  22.  The description files on the new disk are read
  23.  and inserted into the driver selection list.
  24.  Select the driver from this list.
  25.  After you select a driver and configuration,
  26.  you might be prompted to reinsert the diskette
  27.  so the program can read the driver file to
  28.  generate the workstation software.

  30.   Many LAN board manufacturers write their own
  31.  drivers to work with NetWare.
  32.  They provide the driver file and the driver
  33.  description file on a disk labeled
  34.  LAN_DRV_??? (the ??? is replaced by a number).
  35.  The driver file has an .OBJ extension and
  36.  the description file has a .LAN extenstion.

  38.   Two LAN driver description files have the
  39.  same driver identification number. You can
  40.  have only one driver of each type. Choose one.
  41.  This usually happens when a new version of the
  42.  same driver is encountered while reading the
  43.  description files.
  44.  (Novell drivers usually have a date string in 
  45.  parentheses at the end of the description 
  46.  string so you can find the most recent
  47.  driver.)

  49.   Select the hardware configuration you will
  50.  use with the network board in the workstation.
  51.  The hardware configuration must match the
  52.  configuration set on the network board.

  54.   The software will be generated with the
  55.  driver and configuration shown in the box.
  56.  If the driver and configuration are correct
  57.  for the network board in the workstation,
  58.  select Yes.
  59.  If the driver or configuration is incorrect,
  60.  press <Escape> to return to previous screens
  61.  and change your selection, or select No to
  62.  exit WSGEN without saving your selections.

  64.   When the software is generated, the driver
  65.  file is combined with IPX and configured as
  66.  specified.
  67.  A new IPX.COM file is placed in the WSGEN
  68.  directory if you are running on a hard disk or
  69.  a network drive.
  70.  If you are running the program from a floppy
  71.  diskette, IPX.COM is placed on the WSGEN disk.

  73.   A new IPX.COM file is now in the WSGEN
  74.  directory or on the WSGEN disk.
  75.  You need to run IPX.COM and a version of the
  76.  NetWare DOS shell in your workstation. (You
  77.  may also want to use other files on the WSGEN
  78.  disk.)
  79.  Refer to the Using the Network manual to
  80.  determine which files to transfer to the
  81.  workstation boot disk.
  82.  Modify the workstation CONFIG.SYS and
  83.  AUTOEXEC.BAT files and create a customized
  84.  SHELL.CFG file.
