- This file contains up-to-date information on the latest release of MathCAD's
- Mechanical Engineering II Applications Pack, including additions and
- corrections to the documentation.
- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- To use the documents in this Applications Pack you must have MathCAD Version
- 2.0 or later. You should have 640K of RAM, and a coprocessor is recommended.
- USING THE APPLICATIONS
- To load an application file from the Applications Diskette, first load MathCAD
- from your MathCAD System Diskette or hard disk. Then insert the Applications
- Diskette in drive A and press [F5]. At the File to load prompt, type A:
- followed by the name of the file you are loading.

- If you encounter difficulty in loading or running the applications on this
- diskette, call Technical Support at MathSoft.
- DOCUMENTATION
- 1. On page 30 in the documentation for Pressure Drop through Pipes, the
- equations in the third screen shot should be entered BEFORE the equations in
- the second screen shot.
- 2. In the application Liquid Flow through Orifices, note that if you enter a
- temperature outside the range for which the correlations for the chosen pipe
- material are valid, the correction factor Fa will receive a zero value and
- beta and d will not be calculated.
- 3. In the application Centrifugal Pump Design, the value for the estimated
- shaft power Pow shown on page 70 should be 443.7 hp. The first factor in the
- equation for Pow shown on page 74 should be 100/Ep rather than 1/Ep.
