- Welcome to the world of 3.0. In this release of BatchWorks(TM)
- features have been added to allow you to take advantage of
- new features available in the Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) 3.0
- environment.
-
- First, all BatchWorks commands are fully compatible with
- Windows 3.0. For BatchWorks 1.01 users, no change in
- existing PTB files will be necessary.
-
- Second, a library of icons has been incorporated into the
- BATCH.EXE file. This library of icons can be installed by
- the Program Manager of Windows 3.0 in Application Group
- windows. This allows you to associate an icon with any .PTB
- file you create. There are two ways to do this:
-
- 1) Drag the {filename}.PTB file to the appropriate
- Application Group window in the Program Manager and
- then select the icon of the file you just copied to
- the Application window. Now select the Properties...
- option of the Program Manager's File menu. You
- should now have a dialog box on your screen with
- The title: "Program Item Properties". To change
- the icon, select the CHANGE ICON option. Now,
- type in the full path of the BATCH.EXE program
- and select the "View Next" option to browse through
- all of the available icons. When you find one
- you like, just say "OK" and that icon will be used
- to represent your batch file.
-
- 2) Drag the BATCH.EXE executable file to an Application
- Group window and then select the BATCH.EXE icon you
- just copied to the Application window. Now select
- the Properties... option of the Program Manager's
- File menu. You should now have a dialog box on your
- screen with The title: "Program Item Properties".
- Now add the {filename}.PTB file you wish BatchWorks
- to run as a paramater on the Command Line after the
- BATCH.EXE filename. Then use the CHANGE ICON option
- and select "View Next" to browse through all of the
- available icons. When you find one you like, just
- say "OK" and that icon will be used to represent
- your batch file.
-
- We hope you enjoy using BatchWorks. As more and more users
- explore the power of the system, PubTech is collecting a library
- of batch files that are contributed by users. This library will
- be made available in future releases of the system as well as on
- bulletin boards. If you wish to contribute, please contact
- PubTech Technical Support at (512) 682-1700.
