  13. <P><strong><font size="6">XMLTV Automate</font></strong></P>
  14.         
  15. <P>The purpose of this program is to make it easy for new users to get a XMLTV 
  16.   file for their use, and to automatically schedule updates to that file. This 
  17.   program does this by making use of several .bat files in the program directory 
  18.   as well as using the built-in Windows Task Scheduler.</P>
  19. <P><strong>Please Read:</strong></P>
  20. <P>The scheduler needs to be run with a user account associated that has a password. 
  21.   The administrator account should work fine if you don't have another. This is 
  22.   a requirement with the Windows Task Scheduler that the user account be a password-protected 
  23.   one.</P>
  24. <P><strong>Running under Windows account without password:</strong></P>
  25. <P>If you plan on running this under a different account than you are currently 
  26.   on, then you will want to immediately run this program the first time so that 
  27.   you can answer the questions that are displayed from the xmltv configuration 
  28.   process, like Zip code, cable service etc. So launch the program and configure 
  29.   the settings and then hit the 'Run Update Now' button to immediately start the 
  30.   process. If you are running Windows XP (and maybe Win2000), then the next time 
  31.   it runs using the scheduler it will run under the other account so you won't 
  32.   see it happening.</P>

  34. <P>Software Prerequisites:</P>

  37.   <LI> Must have the Microsoft .NET framework installed on your computer.  
  38.     Don't worry this is just like the VB Runtime stuff from old. If you have XP

  43. <P>This program is designed to run with the US,Canada, UK, Germany/Austria, and 
  44.   Sweden/Norway XMLTV listings and includes the XMLTV files so you don't need 
  45.   to download them.  </P>

  47. <P><strong>XMLTV Settings:</strong></P>

  49.   <li># of days of data - Specify the total number of days of data for the grabber 
  50.     to get</li>
  51.   <li>Country for XMLTV listings - Set to which country/region you live in. Right 
  52.     now only US,Canada, UK, Germany/Austria, and Sweden/Norway are supported. 
  53.     More can be added if needs arise.</li>
  54.   <li>Filename of XMLTV data file - Specify the location and name of the XMLTV 
  55.     file to use and it will copy this XMLTV file to that location for you to use. 
  56.     Just hit the button next to the text box and navigate to where you want the 
  57.     file placed and enter the filename.</li>

  59. <p><strong>Scheduled update settings:</strong></p>

  61.   <li>User Name - Type in a user name of an account on your computer that is password-protected. 
  62.     The Task Scheduler has to have a password-protected account to work correctly 
  63.     wth.</li>
  64.   <li>Password - Please type in the password for the above account so that the 
  65.     Windows Task Scheduler can authenticate you as having the correct priviledges 
  66.     to run the update task.</li>
  67.   <li>Time during day to download - Please enter in the time of day to schedule 
  68.     the downloads of data.</li>
  69.   <li>Download every x days - Set this to specify how often to update the file, 
  70.     eg. enter 3 to download new listings every 3 days.</li>

  73. <p><strong>Run update Now </strong>- Click this button to immediately run a new 
  74.   update of the XMLTV data. </p>

  76. <P>Notes:</P>

  78.   <li>The schedule part will not run correctly if you are on a network Domain. 
  79.     If you are then you will need to modify the username/password in the Task 
  80.     in the Task Scheduler to correctly use your username/password combo.</li>

  104.     <font size="4"> <strong>+0100. </strong><font size="3">Enter in +0100 in the 
  105.     timezone parameter under the <strong>Utilities</strong> tab.</font></font></li>
  106.   <li><font size="3">Can now change the display names used in the XMLTV file. 
  107.     To make any of these changes, check the box in the <strong>Utilities</strong> 
  108.     tab to <strong><em>Use different channel names </em></strong>and then click 
  109.     a channel to make the change<strong><em>.</em></strong></font></li>
