  8. This archive contains all the files necessary to allow Pegasus Mail for Windows
  9. version 2.23 or later to run in native NDS mode on NetWare 4.1 servers. Several
  10. of the files in this archive are NDS-aware equivalents of standard Bindery-mode
  11. Pegasus Mail utilities - most notably:
  12.  
  13.    NNEWMAIL.EXE  -  reports new mail, equivalent to NEWMAIL.EXE
  14.    NPMGRANT.EXE  -  extended feature management, equivalent to PMGRANT.EXE
  15.    NSYNONYM.EXE  -  Mercury synonym database builder, equivalent to CH_SYN.EXE

  17. The version of PCONFIG.EXE contained in this archive is a dual-mode program -
  18. it can be used to configure either bindery-based or NDS-based versions of
  19. Pegasus Mail.

  21. Because NDS is a more complicated operating environment than the traditional
  22. NetWare Bindery system, more configuration and planning is required to set up
  23. Pegasus Mail in the NDS environment. For detailed information on the options
  24. available to you and how to get the best operation out of Pegasus Mail in the
  25. NDS environment, please read either README.NDS (Text format) or WPM-NDS.HLP
  26. (Windows Help format) carefully.

  31. * What's new? Version 2.0 includes the ability to use the Novell LDAP
  32.   Server's "Internet Email Address" field as a synonym, and contains both
  33.   16- and 32-bit versions of the enabler module. To use the 32-bit version
  34.   of the enabler, you must have a Novell requester module installed under
  35.   Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0: you cannot use the Microsoft requester software
  36.   because it does not provide a proper 32-bit interface. V2.0 should work
  37.   more reliably than v1.0 in environments where the connection to the
  38.   server is less than perfectly reliable. The version of PMUSER.NLM in this
  39.   release will work correctly under NetWare 4.11 (earlier versions would
  40.   abend the server when certain Novell patches were applied).

  42. * This archive does not contain the NDS-aware version of the Mercury Mail
  43.   Transport System: to obtain the NDS-aware version of Mercury, download
  44.   Mercury v1.30 or later from the site where you found this archive.

  46. * NPMGRANT is not complete in this release - it does not perform any
  47.   kind of security checks and cannot currently control whether or not
  48.   a user can change his/her extended features or not (i.e, the -w and
  49.   -w- switches are non-functional).
