  7.    This file contains additional information and changes about the
  8.    various software that was not available at printing time.

  11.    Updated Windows 95 Audio Drivers
  12.    ================================
  13.  
  14.    These drivers are included under the sub-direcotry {\UPDATE} in Disk#1.
  15.    The drivers now support Full Duplex Operation, Windows Direct-X Sound,
  16.    as well as enhancements in Window's mixer controls.

  18.    To install the drivers, simply copy all the files from the Disk #1
  19.    directory {\UPDATE} over to the Disk #1's ROOT directory. Next, run 
  20.    "A:\SETUP from Disk #1 to complete the software installation. You 
  21.    need to restart the system to take effect of the changes after the
  22.    installation.

  24.    Note : This new driver has not passsed Microsoft Windows Hardware 
  25.           Quality Labs (WHQL) logo testing.

  28.    Intel DOS Configuration Manager DWCFGMG.SYS
  29.    ===========================================

  31.    Please note that on certain 486/Pentium machines with Phoenix BIOS 
  32.    (PnP release 1.1A), if the EMM386.EXE specified with RAM or NOEMS option is 
  33.    loaded together with the Intel DOS Configuration Manager DWCFGMG.SYS in the 
  34.    CONFIG.SYS file, the system will reboot by itself upon startup. Please remove
  35.    any parameters if encounter this problem.

  38.    Installation on Win3.1x Platform
  39.    ================================

  41.    For installing the audio drivers on Win3.1x, please run the ISA Configuration
  42.    Utility (ICU) first. The ICU helps to determine a working configuration that
  43.    does not conflict with other cards in the system. You can refer to the Easy 
  44.    Start Manual for more details.

  46.    On Windows 3.1x Operating System, choose 'Run' from the 'File' menu. Insert
  47.    the Audio Installation Disk#1 into Drive A: (or Drive B:) and change the path to a:\setup (or 
  48.    b:\setup). For more details, you can refer to the Easy Start Manual.

  51.    Installation on Windows 95 Platform
  52.    ===================================

  54.    Start up Windows 95 Operating System. Windows 95 will then automatically 
  55.    detects the AZT2320 PnP Sound Device and prompts a dialog box with the 
  56.    option "Driver from disk provided by manufacturers" being highlighted.
  57.    Please insert the Audio Installation Disk#1 into Drive A: (or Drive B:)
  58.    and change the path to a:\ (or b:\) and click OK to install the
  59.    drivers. Windows 95 will then automatically proceed to detect all the other
  60.    logical devices.

  62.    Note: If you do not have Windows 95 Multimedia Applications installed
  63.          previously, system will prompt you to complete the installation of
  64.          the Multimedia Applications prior to the copying of the Audio Device 
  65.          drivers. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the
  66.          installation of Multimedia Application and AZT2320 PnP Sound Drivers.

  68.    Next, please proceed to run 'A:\SETUP.EXE' from the PnP Audio Installation
  69.    Disk #1 to install the application software.

  71.    You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP 
  72.    devices (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed in 
  73.    your system). Please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95 for 
  74.    further details.

  77.    Upgrading from Win3.x to Win95 platform
  78.    =======================================

  80.    If you have set up your audio card on a Win3.x platform and want to upgrade
  81.    to Windows 95, remember to remove the audio drivers by doing a deinstallation
  82.    first. For more details, you can refer to the Appendix section in the User's
  83.    Manual.

  86.    Cards with 3D function
  87.    ======================
  88.  
  89.    If your card has 3D function, after installing SETUP or restarting from
  90.    Windows, you can activate the 3D function by clicking on the '3D' button
  91.    which is located on the audio mixer. 
  92.    For Windows 3.x, the mixer can be found in the program group formed after
  93.    installation.
  94.    For Windows 95, the mixer can be found under the group name formed after
  95.    installation. This is in turn located under 'Programs' in the 'Start' menu.
  96.    The '3D' function can also be activated through the Microsoft Volume Control
  97.    Panel.  This can be done by clicking on the default Microsoft 'Speaker' icon
  98.    located at the bottom right corner of the screen.  Choose 'Options' and then
  99.    'Advanced Controls' from menu.  Click on the 'Advanced' button and the 3D
  100.    sound effects can be chosen.
